While Fashion Week runways are an indicator of what’s to come in fashion in the next seasons, the looks spotted on the streets of fashion capitals serve as the ultimate barometer of what’s trending now.

For New York Fashion Week, industry professionals, celebrities and fashion enthusiasts put their best fashion foot forward, delivering style inspiration left and right. Show attendants graced the front rows dressed in a galore of stylish wardrobe staples and the coolest accessories, from moon bags to silver jewelry and acetate frames.

Since last year, pops of red color have taken over the wardrobes of fashion-savvy individuals, so naturally, red took several forms on the streets of the City that Never Sleeps. Red mini bags were undoubtedly the preferred accessories, but our photography team also caught sight of statement sunglasses, rosettes, hair clips and even socks!

Metallic Accents

Pinterest predicted “Hot Metallics” to rise to the mainstream in 2024. If we go by the number of showgoers who made a case for metallic accessories this season, the picture-sharing platform was not mistaken. Fashion Week attendants embraced the trend via silver and copper bags, metallic frame sunglasses and chunky jewelry. Some VIPs, including “MAMIII” singer Becky G, even added an extra sparkling touch to their looks with metallic phone cases.

Regardless of the trending styles and the time of the year, dark sunglasses are always a fashion staple. This season, a galore of stylish shades — from minimalist skinny glasses to out-of-the-box statement frames — complemented the looks of Fashion Week attendants. While models and designs varied, fashionistas mainly leaned toward dark-tinted lenses and geometric shapes.

While dark sunglasses are a mainstay during Fashion Week, some showgoers stepped out of the conventional dress codes and embraced other forms of eyewear. The colorful frames, transparent wraparound glasses and chunky frames have us all anticipating the arrival of spring.

Fashion Week guests also experimented with atypical bag shapes and fun items featuring quotes, animal shapes and bold colors. At Thom Browne, in particular, guests paraded with a motley selection of brand staples including the Hector Bag and the newly debuted Sheep Bag.
