PSYCHIC FEVER from EXILE TRIBE’s greatest strength is their innate ability to connect with audiences. Following their 2022 debut, the team upholds the legacy of LDH JAPAN’s esteemed artist collective, EXILE TRIBE. The seven-member team consists of TSURUGI, RYOGA NAKANISHI, REN WATANABE, JIMMY, KOKORO KOHATSU, RYUSHIN HANDA, and WEESA, who all hail from diverse backgrounds and possess unique skill sets. With their endless charms and abilities, the septet captivate audiences anywhere they go. This magnetic appeal was on full display in their first overseas tour in the United States, “PSYCHIC FEVER FIRST U.S. TOUR 2025.”

In the upstairs foyer of the historic Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills, PSYCHIC FEVER sat down with EnVi for an exclusive interview ahead of their tour’s final concert. PSYCHIC FEVER arrived fresh out of the tech rehearsal in matching ensembles — a sleek black set with shining embellishments. Despite the foyer’s dim lighting, the septet were glowing with gratitude as they reflected on their U.S. tour experience, latest tracks, and team journey.

No Magic, It’s PSYCHIC

PSYCHIC FEVER were first unveiled at “BATTLE OF TOKYO ~ENTER THE Jr.EXILE~” in 2019 — an annual theatrical stage show where newer generations of EXILE TRIBE perform. The members of PSYCHIC FEVER were selected as elite students of EXPG, LDH JAPAN’s performing arts school. Eager to showcase their talents to the world, the seven members all proved their talents in this competitive environment and began their journey to debut. “We all attended EXPG, the dance school of LDH,” REN explained. “We have a long relationship with each other and trained together so it boosts our teamwork.” The secret to their synergy is their bond built from years of sheer dedication and resilience.

Each member is so unique, and when they all unite as PSYCHIC FEVER, their charms only multiply. PSYCHIC FEVER have it all — from multiethnic identities, impressive personal talents like beatboxing and breakdancing, to even a para para loving cowboy (who, ironically, has never rode a horse!).

When asked which member they would like to swap styles with, TSURUGI wanted to swap with RYUSHIN. Though TSURUGI and RYUSHIN are both rappers and dancers, their personalities shine in their delivery. TSURUGI told EnVi, “RYUSHIN has a powerful style of rapping and dancing that is quite different from my original style.” PSYCHIC FEVER’s individuality is what makes their strong harmony as a team all the more impressive.

From J-P-N, H-N-D

In October 2024, PSYCHIC FEVER announced the highly anticipated “PSYCHIC FEVER FIRST U.S. TOUR 2025.” From February 2 to February 14, PSYCHIC FEVER traveled to six cities. “Our first U.S. tour happened faster than we expected,” RYOGA reflected. “We have a lot to prepare for in the future, so we are looking forward to our upcoming tours.”

Speaking of preparation, PSYCHIC FEVER were heavily involved in the production of the tour. The septet took advantage of their various skill sets and divided up their roles. TSURUGI, REN, and RYUSHIN were in charge of choreography; RYOGA and JIMMY adjusted the live performance tracks; and KOKORO worked on song arrangements. The tour featured exclusive live arrangements, reimagined renditions of their tracks, and even new dance routines.

PSYCHIC FEVER’s breakthrough hit, “Just Like Dat feat. JP THE WAVY,” was an inescapable earworm during its 2024 release for anyone tuned into the Asian pop scene. “‘Just Like Dat’ went viral in the United States, so we are really excited to perform ‘Just Like Dat’ with the audience,” JIMMY shared. Just as JIMMY anticipated, the crowd at every tour stop went wild for the viral hit. “Just Like Dat” was the final song on their setlist, creating a memorable ending for the audience and the team themselves.

Fans joined in on singing the track from start to finish, with some fans even opting to follow the catchy choreography. KOKORO expressed his gratitude for the fans’ enthusiasm, saying, “Performing in the United States is one of my dreams, and the audience reaction makes us so happy.” Those present at the final stop in Los Angeles were treated to a special appearance from respected Japanese rapper and frequent collaborator JP THE WAVY during the closing number.

An Invitation To Paradise

PSYCHIC FEVER ignited their 2025 endeavors with the dreamy single, “Paradise.” Released on January 9, this retro funk single is full of romantic groove sure to swoon the hearts of ForEVERs. PSYCHIC FEVER understand that music isn’t only delivered sonically, but visually. “Paradise” is paired with a vintage visual style — from dandy velvet suits to microphone stand choreography reminiscent of swing jazz performances. In the music video by visionary director Masaki Watanabe, “Paradise” captures the glamorous ambience of the genre’s era complete with personally-tailored solo shots.

A defining characteristic of PSYCHIC FEVER’s performances is their ability to immerse audiences in the vibe and message of their music. Fittingly, this seductive serenade was chosen as the lead song of “PSYCHIC FEVER FIRST US TOUR 2025.” When asked what kind of “Paradise” they wanted to create with this song, the members laughed in amusement.

“We want to create a paradise for people all over the world — whether they listen to the song or watch the music video,” KOKORO responded. “The live performance [for ‘Paradise’] also has its own charm that creates that feeling of paradise.”

KOKORO’s answer was foreshadowing to the cinematic and romantic live rendition of “Paradise” that night. KOKORO appeared alone onstage with a bouquet of red roses and dressed in the suit from the music video. He moved smoothly across the stage, backed by a slow jazz track and a monologue introducing audiences to “Paradise.” KOKORO finished off this solo by tossing the bouquet into the crowd of passionate ForEVERs, and the rest of the team joining him on stage. In tune with the Valentine’s holiday and the song’s mood, PSYCHIC FEVER accomplished their goal of creating a “Paradise” in all facets.

Irresistible Y2K Excellence

Less than a week shy of their tour, PSYCHIC FEVER released the single, “What’s Happenin’” on January 30. JP THE WAVY, who worked on hits like “Just Like Dat” and “Temperature,” produced the track. “What’s Happenin’” oozes with Y2K vibes, as the septet serve up MTV Total Request Live boy group realness with their presentation. From its Miami-inspired hip-hop beat to their full BAPE drip, PSYCHIC FEVER are committed to authentically representing the aughts. The music video completes the 2000s fantasy with a spaceship-like set where they flaunt their bouncy choreography.

The newness of the track didn’t stop audiences from dancing or singing along during the tour. ForEVERs were ecstatic to witness the first live performances of the track. Fans couldn’t help but chant the catchy hook, “Girl, just let me know (What’s happening?).”

“What’s Happenin’” transports viewers and listeners to a beloved time of pop excellence. If granted the ability to travel to any era of music, WEESA would love to experience a performance by none other than pop legend, Michael Jackson. Longtime fan WEESA was eager to share his answer: “Michael Jackson’s influence inspired many of us to become artists. I want to visit the height of Michael Jackson’s career and watch him perform.”

Memories That Will Last ForEVER

Amid the tour, PSYCHIC FEVER announced some exciting future endeavors. On February 15, PSYCHIC FEVER signed a deal with Warner Music Group. In partnership with 10K Projects, PSYCHIC FEVER are gearing up for further global expansion. On the topic of potential future collaborations, PSYCHIC FEVER collectively paused and said, “Eh (えー)…” which led into a wholesome shared laugh.

After a good laugh, KOKORO and JIMMY both jumped to answer who their dream collaborators would be. “We just revealed our global contract with Warner Music Group and there are a lot of great artists,” JIMMY said. Recognizing KOKORO’s enthusiasm, JIMMY shouted out KOKORO’s favorite artist. “For example, Bruno Mars! We want to collaborate with other artists under Warner Music Group.”

Additionally, PSYCHIC FEVER are already set to make a triumphant return to the states. PSYCHIC FEVER will be performing at  “South by Southwest (SXSW),” exclusively appearing on Friday, March 14. This accomplishment marks PSYCHIC FEVER’s first U.S. music festival appearance. The hype from “PSYCHIC FEVER FIRST U.S. TOUR 2025” is yet to cease, and now U.S. ForEVERs have another performance to look forward to!

One resounding praise for the team is how fans feel represented through PSYCHIC FEVER. PSYCHIC FEVER immerse themselves in local culture in their commitment to authenticity, creating a mutual bond of respect with their fans. Their performances transcend the boundaries of language and genre, with PSYCHIC FEVER’s ultimate goal being to uplift audiences. It comes as no surprise that out of their entire touring experience, PSYCHIC FEVER will miss their U.S. fans the most.

“This time we had a chance to meet fans in the United States, but after wrapping this tour we won’t have the opportunity to meet them as often,” RYUSHIN shared. “We made great memories on this tour, and had a great time with American fans, so we will miss ForEVERs the most.”
