K-pop’s favorite boys are back! Boy group A.C.E is in the U.S. for their “[REWIND US]” tour, with 14 show dates this summer to promote their sixth mini album, My Girl : “My Choice.” On July 5 the band performed the tour’s eighth show in Orlando, Florida at The Plaza Live. This marks A.C.E’s third U.S. tour and their first since 2019, following a five-year gap due to pandemic restrictions and the members’ military enlistments.
Known for their vibrant vocals and performances, A.C.E members Lee Donghun, Park Junhee, WOW, Kim Byeongkwan, and Kang Yuchan charmed the audience from the show’s first note. Despite battling illnesses, their high energy and smiles made it hard for showgoers to notice the members were not in their best condition.
“Honestly, we were very worried this time. Because our tour keeps getting longer and longer, our members have gotten cold symptoms. Honestly, all our members have gotten our IV drips today,” main dancer and rapper Byeongkwan said during the first ment (where members speak directly to the crowd). “I wanna say thank you because we were really worried, but being backstage and hearing all your cheers, we were able to gain energy. Thank you guys, we’ll try our best till the end.”
And their best is exactly what the members gave. Stellar vocal performances, hypnotizing dance routines, magnetic stage presence, and laughter defined the night.
A.C.E: Favorite Boys on Stage
At 7:40 p.m., the lights dimmed and fans screamed as the members’ silhouettes made their way onto the stage. As an operatic instrumental started, blue lights shone on the members, wearing shiny silver hanboks, as they danced to the tour’s intro. The lights then turned red as backup dancers in black capes and caps joined the slow, mysterious choreography. A confused fan exclaimed, “Oh my god! What is happening?” right before the instrumental changed to the opening notes of the group’s hit song “Goblin (Favorite Boys).” The same fan immediately screamed and yelled along to the lyrics, “Your favorite boys are back!” CHOICE, fans of A.C.E, erupted in excitement during the chorus as the members launched into the choreography, setting a high bar for the rest of the night.
Keeping the energy high, the members went straight into their most popular song “SAVAGE.” As the opening notes played, the theater ignited in screams. The energy peaked at main dancer and rapper WOW’s line, “Da-da-da-da-da, rock and roll.” Synchronized maneuvers and steady vocals made “SAVAGE” one of the night’s highlights.
Afterward, the boys cooled down with an introduction ment. “You guys have waited very long, right? It’s been five years,” leader and vocalist Junhee asked, prompting a fan to shout, “Too long!” The members then asked the audience if anyone was seeing A.C.E live for the first time and if anyone came because of a friend. The loud response in affirmation led Junhee to promise that they’d make everyone in the building a CHOICE by the end of the night.
Electrifying Performances: From Hardcore Anthems to Heartfelt Ballads
A.C.E’s setlist blended their timeless classics and newer releases, spanning hardcore hip-hop anthems, catchy pop songs, and heartfelt ballads. The stage came alive with electrifying performances of “Slow Dive, ”and “Under Cover,” spotlighting intricate choreography. The group’s cover of “GODS” by New Jeans and rock rendition of Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer” highlighted their vocal harmonies.
Pop-centric tracks, including “Changer,” “Higher,” and the endearing “My Girl (Eng ver.)” emphasized the group’s musical versatility through dynamic choreography. During “Take Me Higher (Complete Ver.),” the members interacted warmly with the audience, punctuated by occasional choreographed steps. They captured candid moments on fans’ phones and indulged in personal fanservice, creating one-on-one connections with CHOICE.
Despite his absence on My Girl : “My Choice” due to military service, vocalist Yuchan smoothly joined the night’s live performances. All members showcased their vocal abilities as they delivered impressive harmonies and adlibs. WOW and Byeongkwan’s smooth, sultry choreography was also noteworthy. Pre-debut boy group HinLove, labelmates of A.C.E under BEAT Interactive, acted as dancers throughout certain songs in the show.
The night peaked with their recent single “Supernatural,” a testament to A.C.E’s growing popularity. “Recently, our views have gotten a lot higher. I want to say thank you first of all. I just realized this is the power of being on tour and performing in front of y’all,” Byeongkwan remarked. He relayed Yuchan’s wish for fans to keep streaming “Supernatural” and its 54 remixes, which charted in the Top 100 on US iTunes. “Probably just listen to the remixes til you die,” Junhee playfully quipped.
During a brief intermission, an audio message conveyed the members’ sincere appreciation for CHOICE. Vocalist Donghun reminisced, “It feels like just yesterday we first met but it’s already been over seven years.” Junhee’s message echoed, “One of my favorite sayings is, ‘Going fast is good, but it’s more important to go the right path even slow,’ and I believe A.C.E is on the right path because of you.”
The members returned to the stage with an emotional performance of “Talk You Down,” with Donghun’s earnest lyrics leading the way. Other ballads, including “Story” and the English versions of “Effortless” and “Angel,” showcased powerful vocals without the need for elaborate dance routines.
Comedy Central with CHOICE
A.C.E’s concert wasn’t just about the music — it doubled as a lively comedy show filled with moments that kept the audience in stitches. The hilarity began when Yuchan mistook Post Malone for an Orlando native. This prompted Byeongkwan to swiftly declare, “From today, Post Malone is from Orlando.” Donghun chimed in, expressing his admiration and desire for a collaboration with the rapper. Byeongkwan jokingly added, “Everyone, they say ‘living life is just confidence.’ If we say it with confidence we might get a call from Post Malone.”
During the closing remarks, Junhee teased WOW for only speaking to the crowd during the introduction ment. Then, Junhee coaxed him to announce that the group would perform only two more songs. Despite knowing the upcoming bad news, the crowd could only laugh at the way Junhee set WOW up. As WOW reluctantly broke the news, the crowd booed playfully while the members joined in from the stage, thumbs down in jest.
Then in an unexpected turn, Byeongkwan initiated “sexy dance time,” to make WOW dance to his acoustic cover of Justin Timberlake’s “SexyBack,” with Junhee beatboxing. Not to be outdone, Byeongkwan then took center stage for his own sleek freestyle.
From Mickey Mouse Ears to Heartfelt Cheers
From unexpected declarations to playful challenges, the night was as much about making memories as it was about music. Notably, a fan gifted the members Mickey Mouse ears, adding Orlando flair to the city’s tour photos.
As the photo session ended, a fan shouted, “I love you, Junhee!” Yuchan, seemingly feeling left out, joked, “Why only Jun? A.C.E is five members, I’m so sad.” The fan clarified that they don’t have a bias, but Junhee misheard and declared that he was the CHOICE’s bias. Byeongkwan, ever the entertainer, corrected Junhee, “No, she said you are not her bias. Her bias is all of us. Don’t be greedy!” The amusing interaction ended with all the members declaring they love CHOICE more than CHOICE loves them, while using the sign language gesture for “I love you.”
Another highlight was the night’s screaming competition between the band and the audience. When the fans unleashed an ear-splitting roar, Yuchan humorously conceded defeat. Byeongkwan encouraged his teammates to try despite the odds, leading to a modest attempt that had the crowd laughing as Yuchan continued to claim the match was unfair due to the crowd’s size.
Three dedicated fans — Lay, Ky, and Aliyah — added to the night’s charm. The trio’s infectious enthusiasm earned them a special interaction. While backstage before the concert, the members heard a dramatic yelling of the lyric “Under Cover hae!” Later, Junhee singled out the trio, recalling how their chant energized the members. As Aliyah told EnVi, that moment was the highlight of her night. “We started doing that months ago. It started as an inside joke so we were just doing it for fun,” Lay added. Ky, a first-time A.C.E concert-goer, was equally thrilled, especially after fist-bumping Junhee. Despite the joyous atmosphere, the trio also voiced concerns about high ticket prices (VIP packages ranging from $89 to $500) with a mix of humor and frustration.
As the concert drew to a close, Junhee popped out from the side curtain with a heartfelt message. “Never forget, we love you more,” he said, swiftly retreating from the playful groans of disagreement from the loving crowd.
During the show, Junhee teased an upcoming album and expressed his hope for another tour soon. “We’re planning on having a performance that will scare the entire world.”
Lay couldn’t contain her pride for A.C.E: “Their vocals are unmatched, they always give their all, their 110%. I am absolutely proud of them. From where they started, they were busking in South Korea. To see them doing tours in the United States, I’m just super proud to be a CHOICE.”
With plans for a new album and hopes for another tour, A.C.E’s journey is far from over. Keep up with all things A.C.E on Instagram, X, TikTok, Facebook, and their official website.
