Rising rookie group AND2BLE return with their second mini album, telling the story of their own sequence of events in love. Released October 27, Sequence 02: Attraction shows how curious first encounters quickly progress with attraction. Members ZHANG HAO, SEUNGEON, RICKY, GYUVIN, and YUJIN are ready to turn a fleeting moment of curiosity into something that truly lasts. Perfect for the eerie fall season, they present the journey of a dark romance in Sequence 02: Attraction. 

Ghost Story of A Kiss

After the initial pursuit, AND2BLE must learn to express their feelings to their partners. Physical intimacy is the second step in their sequence of love. For AND2BLE, “French Kissing” is not just physical affection, but a pledge of intimacy and vulnerability: “Yeah, a kiss of souls / Between our crossing gazes,” ZHANG HAO sings in the pre-chorus. Moments flee like the first sight of a lover, all too fast. But through their kisses, AND2BLE want to form something with permanence and meaning.

The music video depicts the group members in dim office spaces behind panes of glass, all shown in solo shots. Each member explores their curiosity with their respective props, representing their hesitance to show their true nature. “The scars laid bare / The touch that gently traced them,” YUJIN sings, “You and I drawing closer.” There’s previous hurt that makes opening their hearts not come easy, as AND2BLE fear that the initial flames of attraction may go out. With their lovers’ reassurance, they begin to lay their troubles bare.

By the video’s end, the glass has completely shattered, symbolizing the destruction of their emotional walls. Once their inhibitions have been set free, AND2BLE realize the beauty of trust. “Could the gates of heaven have opened? / Even if I’m tested, I’ll be okay,” SEUNGEON revels in their relationship. Being able to express their worries without judgement becomes the comfort AND2BLE hadn’t known they needed. Where there was once blind devotion, now there is intimate knowledge between lovers.

Rushing Past A Crush

‘Tis the season for paranormal activity, and AND2BLE find themselves experiencing the occult for this album. The quintet challenges how classic romance stories flourish solely with tender moments and affection. With the opening track “Haunted,” AND2BLE show how love can become something dark and all-consuming. “Haunted” leans into alternative rock, establishing a brooding mood for this album. AND2BLE chase after a mysterious ghost of a lover, and their attraction quickly becomes obsession. As the romance picks up in speed, so do AND2BLE’s need for their lover. The members want their devotion reciprocated, inviting their lovers to depend on them. “I’ll make you dive deeper into these unfamiliar sensations,” GYUVIN declares, “So you can’t live outside my attention.” Despite the warbling sounds, AND2BLE’s resolve to pursue this unconventional love is clear.

AND2BLE express their desire for their lovers in “Potion.” Like being caught in a spell, they can’t get enough. As the third track, “Potion” serves as a transition out of the phase of obsession, and into something lighter. The deep house beat invites a new rhythm to the album with dance appeal. It’s easy to find yourself bouncing along to the synth. “Feel that rhythm, lead me on,” RICKY urges as he also admits, “Strangely enough, I just can’t control.” As their hearts open to each other, the quintet finds themselves at peace. Evolving from a one-sided feeling, AND2BLE are learning to enjoy every new experience with their beloved.

Being United in Love

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but there’s no doubt being united by love makes people glow brighter. “Beautiful” shows how AND2BLE continue to learn what it means to love people. They admire the beauty of those around them and bask in the bliss of shared experiences. Written by songwriter-producer duo, LDN Noise, “Beautiful” is an EDM tune determined to get your body moving.  AND2BLE calls on listeners to stomp and bounce along in the chorus. Amidst the energetic beat, the lyrics make sure to also provide a space of comfort. “You know we’re all meant to shine in our own way / There’s absolutely nothing that’s not beautiful,” GYUVIN affirms in the second verse. Beyond physical appearances, everyone has a unique way of making the world beautiful. Amidst the previous moody tracks, “Beautiful” reminds listeners to celebrate the beauty of differences.

For the AND2BLE members, love is always “Worth It.” RICKY’s participation in the lyrics adds a layer of endearment for fans, marking his second contribution to AND2BLE’s discography. A standout feature from other tracks on the album, “Worth It” is sung by the members in unison. As their voices join together, they reassure listeners that their love has become more grounded. Wholly consumed by love, a complete reverence frames the dialogue within the lyrics. “I know the meaning of life is complete with you / All my dreams, memories, and wishes are about you,” they sing. “You’re worth it, my love, my life.” The album ends on a soft note, setting up their next release for a heartfelt theme.
