British fashion brand Burberry released its latest campaign highlighting its new signature design, the Rocking Horse Bag. The campaign features Burberry’s brand ambassador and longstanding collaborators Bright Vachirawit, Tang Wei, Nora Attal, Lily Donaldson, Jun Ji-Hyun and Asami Mizukawa.
Burberry’s New It Bag
Introduced by creative director Daniel Lee in the Fall 2023 season, Burberry’s Rocking Horse Bag is a classic flap satchel (and corresponding variations) featuring the brand’s new B letterform as a metallic closure.
Just like the name suggests, the Rocking Horse Bag reflects Burberry’s longtime association with the equestrian world. Tapping into classic equestrian elements, the bag features rein-inspired straps and a curved shape reminiscent of traditional children’s rocking horse toys.
Further exploiting the equestrian aesthetics, Burberry’s new logo, aptly titled EKD (Equestrian Knight Design), is embossed on the bag of the Rocking Horse Bag. Selected models of the bag even include the iconic Burberry check motif in the inside lining.
The Muses
Some of Burberry’s most esteemed collaborators front the Rocking Horse Bag campaign. South Korean actor and brand ambassador Jun Ji-Hyun, models Lily Donaldson and Nora Attal, as well as Chinese star Tang Wei — who is a regular campaign star — showcase different colorways of the Rocking Horse Bag in its satchel version.
Meanwhile, household Thai actor and brand ambassador Bright Vachirawit poses with a loch-colored Rocking Horse Tote. The campaign marks Bright’s first global campaign with the British label since he was appointed ambassador. However, the star has been a fixture at several Fashion Week shows and has even repped the brand at the 2024 Met Gala, where he was one of the best-dressed men of the night.
Japanese Talent
Another star making her debut in a Burberry campaign is Japanese actress Asami Mizukawa. In fact, Mizukawa is reportedly the first Japanese individual to be featured in a Burberry global campaign.
“I am delighted to have had the opportunity to take part in Burberry’s global campaign. The shoot we created with the creative team in the UK was very stimulating and exciting,” Mizukawa said. “Since Daniel Lee became Chief Creative Officer, Burberry has been taking a traditional yet innovative creative direction, and I am excited to see how the brand will continue to evolve.”
APAC Power
With its latest campaign, Burberry continues to build up ties with relevant figures in the APAC region and introduce them to the global scene. The brand has steadily focused on strengthening its presence in the Asian continent through partnerships and campaigns starring the likes of actors Jun Ji-hyun, Tang Wei, and Chen Kun, as well as football player Son Heung-min. Now, they add new APAC talent to their roster of campaign stars.
