KinnPorsche Superstars Apo and Mile Are Dior’s New Ambassadors for Thailand
Stars from the Asia Pacific (APAC) region continue to assert their fashion influence. Following a streak of ambassadorship announcements in the first half of 2023, Thai superstars Nattawin Wattanagitiphat and Phakphum Romsaithong — better known as Apo and Mile — are the latest celebrities to join a fashion house as brand ambassadors. The actors, who shot to global acclaim through the TV series KinnPorsche (2022), will serve as Dior’s newest ambassadors for Thailand. The announcement comes ahead of Dior Men’s show at Paris Fashion Week, set to take place on June 23.
The New Dior Darlings
Apo and Mile are in no way strangers to the fashion scene. Both stars have previously demonstrated their style chops by attending fashion events around the world. This year alone, the beloved Thai actors have graced Dior’s front rows in Paris and Mumbai. They have also been present at local events and have sported the brand on the covers of magazines and their Instagram feeds.
In January 2023, Mile attended the Dior Men Winter 2023 show in Paris, catching the spotlight alongside other Dior VIPs, including BTS’s Jimin and J-Hope, Robert Pattinson, and fellow Thai star James Jirayu. Meanwhile, Apo Nattawin made a splash with his presence at the Dior Women’s Fall Winter 2023 show. Both stars then made an appearance at the Dior Pre-Fall collection unveiling in Mumbai. Upon their arrival in India, the Thai leading men mobilized large crowds of fans, receiving great attention from the local and international press.
After fostering such a close friendship with Dior, it stands to reason that the Thai icons have now been chosen to represent Dior in their home country. Speaking on the appointment, Dior Men’s creative director, Kim Jones, told WWD, “Apo and Mile are very cool guys. I really love their attitude and I think they are the perfect ambassadors to represent Dior.” The brand further explained, “The duo has established a special friendship with the house, where both embody the Dior style and spirit locally and worldwide.”
Thai Stars’ Fashion Takeover
In recent years, the popularity of Thai entertainment as well as the growing market for luxury in the country have cemented Thailand as a market hub for fashion brands. In tandem, Thai celebrities have become some of the most sought-after stars in the fashion industry. From invitations to coveted events and Fashion Week appearances to ambassadorship appointments, these popular figures are generating great anticipation with their fashion endeavors. Now, Apo and Mile join the list of Thai celebrities officially lending their names to promote fashion brands in the APAC region.
