Style Profile: ARTMS’ JinSoul on Her Favorite Hair Era and Travel Essentials
In the series “Style Profile,” celebrities exclusively share details of their fashion and beauty with EnVi. In this installment, the members of the K-pop group ARTMS offer a picture of their personal style, sartorial inspirations and must-have items as they embark on their world tour, “Moonshot.”
Long-time fans of ARTMS’ Jeong Jinsol — best known by her stage name JinSoul — will instantly remember the stylish image she was first introduced with. In case you weren’t there in 2017, when the singer made her debut with “Singing in the Rain,” paint this picture: platinum blonde hair, crimped waves and a blue-rich wardrobe accentuated with fierce all-black stage looks.
Seven years into her career, JinSoul has left the platinum waves behind, replacing them with jet-black hair for ARTMS’ “Monshoot” world tour, which kicked off on July 20 in Seoul. Ahead of the tour and amid the promotions of ARTMS’ first album, <Dall>, JinSoul talked to EnVi about her favorite hair color era, hairstyling tips and must-have travel items.
JinSoul’s Style
Since she first rose to fame in 2017, JinSoul has steadily built a style lookbook to rave about. Dig into the seven year’s worth of audiovisual material on the internet. You’ll probably find fashion and beauty inspiration for days, from casual ringer T-shirts paired with blonde beach waves to girl crush-apt leather outfits styled with sleek black hair and equally sleek bangs.
In more recent times, JinSoul, who is restarting her career as a member of Modhaus’ girl group ARTMS, hasn’t shied away from style experimentation. For their reintroduction into the world of K-pop, the quintet has experimented with a galore of beautifully styled looks. The wardrobe spanned Y2K-leaning crop top-and-mini-skirt sets and uniform-esque ensembles paired with angel wings fit for otherworldly anime characters.

While JinSoul approaches off-duty fashion much more casually, the star’s personal wardrobe remains equally stylish. If you need proof, head to her social media account. You’ll come across brat summer-appropriate outfits featuring denim, it bags, futuristic glasses and the season staple: tank tops. Because she does it so effortlessly, JinSoul also shares occasional lessons on how to rock a trend — popular items like bag charms, pink lip gloss and intricate nail art belong in JinSoul’s style repertoire.
“When I choose my clothes, I obviously look for pretty designs,” she shares. But the key to achieving her flawless style, JinSoul says, is knowing what suits her better. “Each body type has its pros and cons, so I think it’s important to consider silhouettes when I’m choosing my outfits.” Noted.

The Hair Color Dilemma
When it comes to hair, however, JinSoul’s opinions are divided. Throughout her career, the K-pop idol — who is embarking on a new career chapter following her days as a member of the big-scale girl group Loona — has undergone several hair color transformations. Platinum blonde, jet black, blue, brown and vanilla sugar blonde are just a few of the hair colors she’s flaunted to match the concepts attached to a rich discography.
What’s her favorite hair color so far? The debate seems to go back and forth between blonde and black. “To be honest, I like dark hair, but all my fans seem to really like blonde hair,” she says between smiles. “So I’ve wondered if blonde might be my best hair color, but when I ask around, it always comes out 50-50. [I guess] everything works!”
For “Virtual Angel,” the singer left this hair color dilemma behind and instead opted for one of this year’s most popular hair trends: red hair. The cherry cola hair color — popular among the likes of Dua Lipa and Dove Cameron — was a refreshing change, but as JinSoul puts it, in the future she would rather play with new haircuts. “More than a new hair color, I really want to experiment with hair length,” she says.
As for her best hair tip, the singer admits that creating volume is her priority. She also remarks on her predilection for hair accessories. “My hair tip… [Well,] I really like having volume in my hair, especially at the top. I like volume and I also like accessories like hats or hairbands, so I use those accessories to style and add volume to my hair.” This preference is notable in JinSoul’s social media feed. (Back in July, we gushed for days about a pink summer hat expertly styled with a tank top, lace maxi skirt and pearls.) To further her point, JinSoul is actually wearing a sporty headband for this interview.
Health First
We’re quite certain JinSoul didn’t forget to pack hair accessories for the “Moonshot” tour, which landed in the United States on August 16 and is set to take ARTMS to Latin America and Europe next. However, as she prepped for the tour, the singer’s must-have was not a fashion or beauty item but a wellness essential.
“I don’t have anything too special…” she says pensively, as other members chime in with their own ideas. “[Just] nutritional supplements. When we go on tour, I always bring a container to ensure I can take all my supplements.”

Putting self-care as a priority, JinSoul — along with her ARTMS teammates — is currently touring stateside. “Moonshot” has so far landed in New York and Atlanta. After 10 additional dates in the United States, the five-member act will bring their star power to Latin America and Europe.
