Summer might be over, but Filipina style icon Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach has found the perfect way to transform the draped dress into a transitional wardrobe staple. On September 7, the star stepped out in New York to attend the Prabal Gurung Spring Summer 2025 show. While her style never goes unnoticed — Pia is always among the buzziest stars at Fashion Week — this time, she caught attention for sporting one of the most anticipated fall trends.

The Draped Dress Is In

Draped dresses might be generally associated with the hot-weather season, but this year, they’ve emerged as must-have fall items. From the Fall Winter 2024 runways of brands such as Acne Studios, Jacquemus, Ferragamo and JW Anderson straight to the streets of fashion capitals, the draped dress is shaping to become one of this season’s favorite pieces.

What better proof than to witness fashionista Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach putting her spin on this style staple? While in New York for the city’s highly awaited Fashion Week, the Filipina star embraced the draped dress trend with a summer flair. Pia’s look featured a lush green sleeveless dress with draping details on the waist and a straight maxi skirt.

The column dress was stylishly accessorized with a buttonscarves’ Britney bag and statement gold earrings. As the cherry on top, Pia opted for fall-leaning beauty with a sleek hair bun and cherry red lipstick.

Over the last couple of years, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach has become one of the Filipino stars leaving a mark in the fashion world. The former beauty pageant is part of a vibrant and growing fashion scene that has steadily grown and reached global cities. In fact, after the Prabal Gurung show, Pia was spotted supporting fellow Filipino fashion forces at the Filipinxt fashion show, a platform created for Filipino talent to showcase their work internationally.

For the event, Pia favored another fall staple: a black leather dress. Talk about knowing your way around fashion!
