BLACKPINK’s Rosé has a new title to add to her impressive resume. After her red carpet debut at the Cannes Film Festival, the singer, songwriter, and model can rightfully be dubbed the epitome of grace. Turning up to the international event, the star stunned in a gorgeous Saint Laurent dress. And though her outfit made headlines around the world, her glam didn’t go unnoticed. Luckily for us, Rosé’s makeup artist shared the products she used to create the look.
Saint Laurent Elegance
Sporting the newest trends at various fashion events, Rosé is always one to dress to impress. The K-pop star made her way to the South of France to attend the premiere of Hirokazu Kore-eda’s film Monster at the Cannes Film Festival. Making her first montée des marches at the Grand Théâtre Lumière, the singer appeared in a slinky black halter dress. The silk piece featured ruffles and a scarf detail that draped over her shoulder for a right-off-the-runway look. Glittering teardrop earrings added a dash of sophistication to this monochromatic outfit, but the icing on the cake was her glam.
Neutrals Never Go Wrong
For her first Cannes Festival showing, Rosé’s makeup consisted of warm-toned neutrals to enhance her natural beauty. The key was to layer light neutral tones for an elegant and glamorous finish. The mastermind behind Rosé’s beauty was the makeup artist Woosun, from Woosun Hair & Makeup, who is responsible for most of BLACKPINK’s showstopping looks. The MUA took to social media to break down the products that went on Rosé’s glam and they’re surprisingly budget-friendly!
With Rosé as the new face of Sulwhasoo’s Rebloom campaign, the Luxurious Sulwhasoo Perfecting Glow Foundation served as the perfect dewy base for her red carpet look. Then, neutral peach and brown shadows from the HUDA BEAUTY Nude Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette were artfully layered all around the eye area in a cat eye shape. Champagne shimmer was patted in the center of the lids to really make Rose’s eyes stand out.
Best-selling NARS Hardwired Eyeshadow in Galapagos was added to the outer corners to deepen the smoky eye while adding a secret touch of gold glitter. Then, Bobbi Brown Eye Shadow in Taupe gave subtle depth with a soft-winged cat eye. Known for keeping the straightest of lashes perky, Dior Iconic Overcurl Mascara was brushed on the artist’s eyes as the final step to the eye makeup.
As for the finishing touches, Woosun used the ombré blush technique to enhance the star’s cheekbones. The MUA utilized 3CE Face Split Blush Edition in #City Mauve as the base shade and Clinique Pop in Heather Pop to lightly contour the cheeks without traditional contour powder. Finally, the makeup artist applied the Sulwhasoo Essential Lip Serum Stick in No.38 Subtle Pink to add a pop of color and shine.
Complementing the fashion and beauty, Rosé wore a chic slicked-back bun. For a dash of grace, youthful baby bangs swooped over the sides of her face. To top off the whole look, her nails were painted signature Saint Laurent black to be perfectly attuned to the current manicure trends.
Although it was created with a handful of accessible products that can be found at our local mall or makeup store, Rosé’s subtle and refined makeup made waves on the red carpet. The singer and her MUA proved that anyone who masters the art of layering color can achieve red-carpet-ready beauty.
