Olivia Rodrigo – โthe cureโ

Pop princess Olivia Rodrigo is back with her second single from her upcoming album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love. On โthe cure,โ Rodrigo slips into a vulnerable, guitar-driven, indie-rock ballad. Over delicate production, she spirals through the realization that a relationship canโt magically fix her insecurities, loneliness, or mental health. As she sings, โAnd my head is full of poison, and my heart is full of doubt / I got toxins in my bloodstream, you tried hard to suck โem out,โ shereveals the emotional weight sheโs carrying, even as her partner tries to help her through it. By the bridge, she completely unravels when she belts, โWhy canโt you come stitch me up / Why canโt it ever be enough.โ She comes to the gutting understanding that while love feels like medicine, it will โnever be the cure.โ
The music video plays out like a surreal dollhouse dream world. Rodrigo, dressed in a Filipiniana-inspired nurse uniform, tries to save her patientsโ hearts with potions, only to ultimately fail. By the end, Rodrigo succumbs to her own emotional wounds and becomes a patient herself. The final shot zooms out of the dollhouse to reveal the โrealโ Rodrigo in a room with moving boxes and bare walls before she steps on and destroys the dollhouse.
On Instagram, Rodrigo called โthe cureโ the โthesis statementโ of the album, adding that it โmade the whole album click.โ Between this and โdrop dead,โ the 23-year-oldโs third studio album is already shaping up to be an emotional rollercoaster (and weโre seated for the ride!).

Ahn Hyo-seop, Khalid – โSomething Specialโ

Smooth vocals and harmonies collide in this cross-market collaboration from actor and singer Ahn Hyo-seop and singer-songwriter Khalid. โSomething Specialโ is an R&B ballad that combines Khalidโs signature poignant vocals and Ahn Hyo-seopโs clear tones for a contemplative track on that โspecial someone.โ Devotion weaves between each line, notably in the chorus. โPeople wait around for all of their lives,โ Khalid and Ahn Hyo-seop profess in the chorus, โJust to get a glimpse of something like / something like this.โ The track was produced by Woo โRAINSTONEโ Rhee, who notably worked on the hit โNobodyโ by K-pop icons Wonder Girls, and co-produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Troy โR8DIOโ Johnson, who has written and produced for acclaimed artists like Solange and Michelle Williams.
Khalid and Ahn Hyo-seop both have extensive experience in their respective music industries. Khalidโs early single, โLocation,โ found widespread success in 2016, topping charts and launching him into stardom. Over the last decade, his career has brought him both hit singles and high-profile collabs, making his baritenor voice a well-recognized one. Ahn Hyo-seop debuted as a singer just a year before Khalid as a member of the K-pop group One O One. He then gained recognition for his acting in Korean dramas such as Business Proposal before his breakout role voicing Jinu from the Netflix animated film KPop Demon Hunters.
Both singers brought their best to โSomething Special,โ combining their global stardom in a milestone collaboration. The track is both Ahnโs official debut as a solo artist and Khalidโs first collaboration with a Korean singer. The music equity platform Musicow released the track on all streaming platforms via FANDOM, a fan-owned album project. The official music video is set to release in June, giving fans of the track a chance to see both stars on screen together.

PSYCHIC FEVER – โI Got Waysโ

Itโs been nearly four years since their debut, but PSYCHIC FEVER is prepared to share their evolved charisma with the world. Stepping away from their brighter image, the Japanese boy group is going all in on evoking a cooler and darker aura. With their second album DIFFERENT releasing this July, โI Got Waysโ acts as both the first single and the foundation for a brand new era. Plus, what better way pull in viewers than by having members KOKORO, WEESA, TSURUGI, RYOGA, REN, JIMMY, and RYUSHIN suit up for a late night out?
Expanding on their signature mix of R&B, hip-hop, and Japanese pop sounds, the track immediately creates a dynamic flow by starting with a light violin against sharper beats. In the official music video, each member takes turns enticing viewers into their world against the backdrop of a dark street. Playful teases are sprinkled through lines like, โAnd whose skin feels better on your lips?โ and โBaby, you know I got ways / To make you stay.โ The last chorus leads up to a dramatic scene in the rain that combines synced choreography and smooth vocals. Closing out their performance with style, the septet strut away in leather jackets in a moment reminiscent of The Matrix. While PSYCHIC FEVERโs newest chapter is beginning, the rest of their story is a book youโll definitely want to keep on your radar.

LISA, Anitta, Rema – โGoalsโ

With an international collaboration that could only come together for a project like the FIFA World Cup, LISA, Anitta, and Rema unite on a full-blown anthem, โGoals.โ The track blends K-pop precision, Latin pop flair, and Afrobeats rhythm into afast-paced celebration of confidence and global unity. From the opening hook, LISA chants, โYes, Iโm goals, goals, goals,โ almost like a kickoff whistle. She moves into a slick verse rooted in self-assurance and freedom. Anitta follows with a verse in Spanish and Portuguese, adding playful, flirtatious swagger as she sings, โCome closer, you wanted a mami / Iโve got what youโre looking for, hereโs your Brazilian body.โ Rema closes the record with a rapid-fire verse that pushes the rhythm into overdrive as he spits, โBreaking all their record, now they wan shift the goal post / Normally Remy get unlimited flow / One of one, check around the world, me no get clone.โ
The music video only amplifies the high-energy feel of the track, with visuals set inside an underground football match where choreography, fashion, and sport collide (with a life-size Labubu mascot mixed into the chaos). โGoalsโ is the perfect track to celebrate global culture and was made for the worldโs biggest stage. It will be featured on the Official FIFA World Cupโข 2026 Album.

TAEMIN – โPERMISSIONโ

K-pop icon TAEMIN returns with his second single of the year, โPERMISSION.โ He first performed the track live on his 2026 Coachella stage โ now, he has released it as a digital single. โPERMISSIONโ is an electric, uninhibited declaration of self-determination, a reflection of TAEMINโs career. His commanding voice leads the high-tempo track through every beat, acting as an instrument itself. โDonโt need no permission,โ he declares in the chorus, โIโm gonna do what I want when I wanna.โ TAEMIN breaks free from any and all attempts to control him, confident in living life on his own terms. Sharp choreography accompanies the track throughout the live performance, a clear display of TAEMINโs ownership over his mind and body.
Initially debuting in 2008 as the youngest member of the K-pop group SHINee, TAEMIN brings over a decade and a half of experience to the stage. He began his journey as a solo artist in 2014 with his EP ACE – The 1st Mini Album. In the years since, he has become a contemporary K-pop icon with releases like โMOVEโ and โAdviceโ gaining widespread acclaim. He made history at Coachella as the first Korean male solo artist to perform at the festival, packing the Mojave stage with fans both weekends.

LE SSERAFIM – โBOOMPALAโ

Among the many formulas that make K-pop such a fluid and catchy genre, one element that has helped propel its success is sampling. Breaching the borderline between East and West, timelessly iconic pop songs like โI Will Survive,โ โPush It,โ and โAnother One Bites The Dustโ have shown up in the discographies of different K-pop groups. This time, itโs a sample of one-hit wonder โMacarenaโ that hooks listeners as it opens LE SSERAFIMโs latest single, โBOOMPALA.โ
โBOOMPALAโ coincides with the release of the girl groupโs second studio album โPUREFLOWโ, pt. 1. Departing from the Eurohouse of โCELEBRATION,โ this track takes advantage of its sampleโs Latin origins, infusing it with a campy hip hop beat. But it still carries the same message of acceptance, self-love, and collective joy โ โa festival that everyone could dance to and enjoy together,โ as described by leader Yunjin. This outlook is also embodied through the girlsโ energetic choreography, which incorporates the immediately recognizable Macarena and elements of the traditional Chinese Thousand-Hand Bodhisattva dance, a symbolism of the goddess Guanyinโs enlightenment and compassion. The track also references Hinduism through visual cues in the music video, yoga-like poses in their performance, and lyrics like โMy celestial chakra is stunning / namaste, namaste, Iโma stay up.โ

Saint Levant – โSABAH EL WARD / ุตุจุงุญ ุงููุฑุฏโ
Saint Levant returns with his first single of the year, โSABAH EL WARD / ุตุจุงุญ ุงููุฑุฏ,โ a romantic good morning greeting. The Palestinian Algerian artist utilizes woodwinds, strings, and a chorus of harmonies to build out the track around his clear vocals. โSABAH EL WARD / ุตุจุงุญ ุงููุฑุฏ,โ meaning โmorning of roses,โ depicts just that: Saint Levant bids good morning to his loved one, likening her to roses and jasmine, able to light up any space sheโs in. As she goes about her day, she โbrightens the morningโ for the workers and vendors she passes in the market. The addictive melody invites the listener to feel the adoration in every line. The music video gives the song a cinematic spin, using a split screen to tell the respective stories of Saint Levant and his love as they find their way towards each other.
Saint Levant grew up with music from a very young age, although he first came into the music scene in 2020 with back-to-back releases โJerusalem Freestyleโ and โNirvana in Gaza.โ Around the same time, he began to post publicly about political issues and Palestinian history. His 2022 hit โVery Few Friends,โ which featured lyrics in English, Arabic, and French, earned him two million views on YouTube within a month. Earlier that same year, the singer co-founded the 2048 Foundation, a platform that funds Palestinian creatives and brings their ideas to life. At his Coachella 2024 performance, Saint Levant used his platform to bring awareness to Palestinian oppression.

SHOWNU X HYUNGWON – โDo You Love Meโ

MONSTA X subunit SHOWNU and HYUNGWON make a striking return for their second EP, LOVE ME. Taking its place as the official title track, โDo You Love Meโ blends a dangerous confrontation with a smooth pop-R&B sound.
In the duoโs official music video, SHOWNU and HYUNGWON lose their minds over something everyone has experienced โ awaiting a text from that special someone. As they move in and out of the office, they vocalize their frustrations through the chorusโ hook: โDo you love me? Do you love me a lot? / Do you love me? Do you love me or not?โ But what starts out as longing soon turns into a heated rivalry, with the two duking it out in a parking garage. While the chase begins, the push and pull of emotions ramps up through darker bass instrumentals and SHOWNUโs addictive choreography. As the pair escape a large explosion together, it seems as though they find more common ground in their quest for love than they thought. But in a shocking state of events, the frame ends with a surprising notification โ implying the answer theyโve been looking for is now in their hands.
Listeners can continue the story with the EPโs additional six tracks, which includes four songs produced by HYUNGWON and two new solos from both members. These two aces know how to bring something new to the table every time. And who knows? This new fan favorite song might just make it into the setlist for MONSTA Xโs upcoming tour, โTHE X: NEXUS.โ

Isyana Sarasvati, Agt.Widi – โBURNโ

Trying to fit Indonesian musician Isyana Sarasvati into a single genre is a futile mission. Her eclecticism and profound knowledge of the vast stretch of music is reflected through her discography that spans over a decade. Her latest album, EKLEKTIKO, demonstrates this best, offering a four-part grab bag of 18 songs that range from glam rock tracks, blippy confections, and stripped back ballads to cinematic, orchestral grandiosity. Among the standouts is โBURN,โ track two on the recordโs final quarter.
The track begins with a grimy intro, evoking the UK garage sound that PinkPantheress helped canonize into the 2020s pop lexicon. It might lull you into a Jorja Smith-esque sense of calmness at first, but the ninth bar will definitely jolt you right back into full awakenness as, assisted by Agt.Widi, the song takes a turn into rapturous heavy metal โ distorted guitars, full-bodied drums, back-of-the-throat growling and all. The track continues to alternate between the two, with Isyanaโs masterful piano skills woven throughout with a jazzy, stylized riff here and floaty, layered vocals there. Itโs a listening experience that never dulls โ much like the Indonesian singerโs musical trajectory, which seems primed to continue exploring uncharted genres.
