Over the last couple of years, Dahyun, member of K-pop group TWICE, has become a New York Fashion Week regular. The entertainer has established a tight-knit bond with Michael Kors and has become one of the brand’s global ambassadors and frequent front-row guests. Now, the star has taken the association up a notch with a runway cameo.

A Runway Debut to Remember

After a few consecutive seasons of gracing the Michael Kors’ VIP section, on September 10, Dahyun made an in-person return to New York City. Unlike her previous visits to the City that Never Sleeps, Dahyun was not in town to attend a show — she touched down in New York to model on the runway!

The star joined models on the catwalk to showcase the American brand’s Spring Summer 2025 collection — a minimalist parade of monochrome looks. Dahyun strutted forward dressed in a total look: a brown off-the-shoulder dress featuring a flared skirt that gracefully moved as she walked. The outfit was accentuated with a chunky belt and a matching brown mini bag. Beauty-wise, Dahyun’s glam was minimal and her hair was styled into a side-parted ponytail to adhere to the runway’s styling.

Dahyun made yet another stylish appearance after the show, stepping out of The Shed at Hudson Yards in a gray ribbed dress. The look, which nodded at the return of the bodycon dress, was teamed with a washed-finish leather bag.

A Pleasant Surprise

Dahyun’s runway debut made for a pleasant surprise for fans and fashion enthusiasts. The K-pop star had kept her social media lowkey during the weekend leading up to the show.

However, given her association with the American brand, her runway cameo was not entirely unexpected. Michael Kors had teased her appearance at NYFW in August, with the release of a Fall 2024 campaign, starring Dahyun. “[Dahyun] is set to grace the upcoming Spring Summer 2025 runway show,” the brand shared back then in a press statement.

The campaign, shot by Kim Hee June in Dahyun’s homebase of Seoul, South Korea, featured the brand’s latest seasonal items and was captured in front of natural backdrops and the city skyline.

With her latest foray into fashion, Dahyun joins a select group of K-pop stars who’ve graced the runways of New York Fashion Week. She also joins a list of global tastemakers displaying their star power on the fashion circuit — and not just as spectators but as catwalk stars!
