Following her explosive Grammy Awards debut, American rapper Jaylah Ji’mya Hickmon — best known by the mononym Doechii — made an appearance at the House of Verizon’s Super Bowl party. The newly minted Grammy winner sported a striking beauty look that put the “princess” in her nickname, “Swamp Princess.”

If you want to recreate Doechii’s glam, EnVi has you covered! We got the insider scoop on the products celebrity makeup artist Dee used to craft the rapper’s look. (Spoiler, they’re all from the beloved Black-owned brand Danessa Myricks Beauty.)

Read on to get the ins and outs of Doechii’s game-day glam.

Hydrated Skin and Flushed Cheeks

Doechii’s skin looked flawless and hydrated when she stepped onstage. Dee, the rapper’s go-to MUA, prepped her skin with the Yummy Skin Water Powder Serum, which controls sebum production. The next step was blurring any imperfections with the Yummy Skin Serum Foundation and Yummy Skin Lift & Flex Concealer. For subtle definition, the MUA used the Balm Contour in shade Deep 2. Due to its emollient formula, the contour corrects complexion, leaving a soft matte finish.

As for the blush, Dee tapped the Yummy Skin Blurring Balm Powder Flushed on Doechii’s cheekbones. This balm-to-powder product added a subtle burst of color with a blurring and skin-refining effect. For the occasion, the makeup artist opted for an innocent flush by layering the shades “Crème Brûlée” and “Red Velvet.”

Graphic Liner

In 2023, the graphic liner trend held a tight grip on the beauty industry. Dee pulled the trend out of the vault to craft Doechii’s eye makeup. One thing is for certain, she made sure the audience saw the graphic liner. Using the Colorfix pigment in shades “Nude 12” and “Blackout,” Doechii’s graphic liner featured a thin outer corner wing and a purposeful gap left on the lower lash line. ICYMI, the colorfix pigments are one of Danessa Myricks’ emblem products. They boast a waterproof, ultra-smooth formula and come in sixty-six shades, which makes them a perfect addition to any vanity.

To further highlight Doechii’s eye look, Dee applied matte gunmetal eyeshadow from the Groundwork Palette – Defining Neutrals on the eyelids. Lastly, Doechii’s signature — eye tape – framed her eyes.

Barely-There Lips

Dee crafted a barely-there lip combination to balance out the Doechii’s dramatic eye makeup. The rapper’s translucent lips put a modern spin on the ‘90s lip look — which featured dark lip liner and glossy lip products.

For Doechii’s look, Danessa Myricks’ Colorfix in the shade “Chocolate” served as a lip liner. Next, Dee patted the shade “Primary Red” on the center of Doechii’s lips. To soften the transition between both products, the makeup artist applied Colorfix Glaze in “Clear”.

And while Doechii’s Super Bowl style made headlines everywhere, her game-day glam taught us that statement makeup doesn’t always come in the form of large lashes and heavy pigments. Sometimes, intricate eyeliner and perfected skin are exactly what an iconic outfit needs.
