After a successful collaboration with BLACKPINK’s Lisa, MAC has unveiled its latest collaboration with another Thai K-pop star: (G)I-DLE member MINNIE. Announced on social media on July 15, the new campaign will be published in Elle Korea in August. Images teased by Elle Korea showcase MAC’s new Powder Kiss Velvet Blur Slim Stick, which MINNIE modelled in a variety of shots.
Pucker Up
MAC promises a long-lasting, satin finish all encapsulated in a sleek-packaged lipstick product. The shade range of the new release features twelve shades, ranging from a soft nude to a timeless red. Shades include the following [left to right, top to bottom]- Cinderella, Sweet Cinnamon, Wild Sumac, Devoted to Danger, Hot Paprika, Ruby New, Stay Curious, Over the Taupe, Brickthrough, Sheer Outrage, Sorry not Sorry, and Mull it Over.
Styling Success
Keeping with the overall classic vibe of the shade range, MINNIE donned a stunning black number, paired with a cheeky red choker and gold accessories. Gold gave the shots glamour, whilst the black ensemble and nails were on brand for something as classically MAC as a lip product. The colour choice ensured the Slim Stick was the star of the show.
Likewise, MINNIE’s clean, soft skin and doe-eyes created a teasing and enticing shot for fans and makeup fanatics alike to fawn over. In some shots, MINNIE was seen wearing a red-toned smokey eye, matching the tones in the new shades. In others, a clean lid and sharp black liner mimicked the sleek black packaging and outfit.
Grab It Quick
After the collaboration was introduced, fans immediately flocked to MAC to grab the products, and three of the twelve shades were completely sold out. Rest assured, MAC Cosmetics allows customers to sign up to notifications for restock on their products! If you’re itching for any of the sold out shades, you can be the first to know when they’re back in stock. Some fans were able to nab the collaborative products, and many took to social media to express their excitement and pride in MAC calling MINNIE their muse.
MAC Cosmetics’ recent K-pop collaborations have left a huge impact on fans, building the bridge between them and the beauty world. For such renowned beauty companies, the Korean wave has opened doors to new audiences and customers, making collaborations such as these of particular interest to consumers.
