Not many stars can rock bold dressing like K-pop star Johnny Suh. In 2022, he embraced sans shirt style at the Met Gala and has since rolled with it at events such as concerts and fashion shows. Now, the star is expanding his sartorial M.O. with a daring mix of biker aesthetics and post-apocalypse Mad-Max-leaning style.

All Around Trendy

On September 25, Johnny attended the showcase of Acne Studios’ latest collection at Paris Fashion Week. The event was a stylish gathering of notable figures ranging from J-pop royalty Hikaru Utada to American singer Willow Smith. Johnny dressed the part, channeling the audacious aesthetics that Acne Studios has adopted in recent seasons.

The K-pop heartthrob slipped on a washed leather blouson and layered the piece atop a tank top — an item that has cemented its place as a must-have since the early 2020s. The key point of Johnny’s look was a pair of maximalism pants that embraced the multiple waistband effect usually executed with layered bottoms or peeking underwear. However, Johnny’s Acne Studios outfit achieved the look via trompe l’oeil pants that featured a slew of belt motifs printed from the waist down the hips.

No iconic Fashion Week look is complete without the right accessories so Johnny spiced his outfit up with chunky sole boots and a multi-charm choker. Of course, as a consummate fashionista, Johnny opted for fall-appropriate colors, incorporating burnt umber, copper, chocolate brown and orange accents in his ‘fit.

‘80s Rocker Makeup

Earlier this year, men’s beauty trends focused on slicked-back hair and clean skin. However, Johnny turned the tables and leaned into daring territory. His beauty look enhanced his features with smudged liner, sharp brow makeup and a lot of hair product.

Departing from this year’s glass skin trend, cloud matte skin gave his face a lived-in and masculine appearance. The lack of shine effortlessly brought attention to his eyes. Balancing out the smokey eye makeup, contour powder hollowed out the cheeks and nose bridge. This step added dimension without applying blush or highlighter.

Inspired by the ‘80s rocker aesthetic, Johnny’s eye makeup remained sharp. The refined application created an editorial look fit for a runway or advertisement. A generous amount of smokey eyeshadow and eyeliner deepened his eye area and enhanced his naturally upturned eyes. Johnny’s eyebrows were noticeably straighter and pointier towards the ends.

In the same 1980s spirit, Johnny’s hair was tousled with handfuls of pomade and hairspray. The product held his layered haircut back and created a purposely messy appearance. The piecey bang look was reminiscent of past decades’ heartthrobs such as John Travolta in the ‘80s and John Wick (Keanu Reeves character in the American neo-noir action film series John Wick) in the early 2000s — do you recognize a pattern there?

Johnny’s Fashion Prowess

Johnny’s Paris Fashion Week appearance added yet another ultra-modern look to his stylebook and further cemented his place as one of the hottest stars in the fashion biz. At his arrival in l’Observatoire de Paris, and despite the pouring rain, the K-pop VIP was received with loud cheers and a large crowd. In fact, industry professionals at the event joked that “the rain started vibrating from the screaming.”

The star is, of course, no stranger to the fashion scene. Throughout the years, Johnny has collected major accolades and milestones, including topping Media Impact Value figures at global Fashion Weeks and attending highly-coveted events such as the Met Gala
