Maitreyi Ramakrishnan Channels NYC Prep at the Lancôme Idôle House
Ahead of the space’s public opening, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan made an appearance at the Lancôme Idôle House on June 15. The two-day event in London invited fans of Lancôme to follow in the footsteps of ambassadors and influencers to celebrate the brand’s Idôle makeup line. Posing against the event’s pastel pink interior, Maitreyi channeled the preppy energy of New York City’s Upper East Side with a nod to Gossip Girl’s longstanding icon, Blair Waldorf.

Each year, the fashion world cycles through a range of aesthetics that embrace, reconstruct or reject expressions of femininity. Unlike most of the fleeting trends that regularly overtake social media, the feminine preppy aesthetic has retained its appeal across eras.
In her latest public appearance, actor Maitreyi Ramakrishnan seamlessly embodied prep style with wardrobe staples associated with portrayals of the Upper East Side in pop culture — think of characters like Gossip Girl’s Blair Waldorf or The Sex and The City’s Charlotte York.
Maitreyi wore a simple white button-up shirt and black tie, keeping the cuffs visible under a charcoal blazer. To re-imagine the classic business casual ensemble, the actor swapped matching slacks or trousers for a pinstriped plaid mini skirt. Additionally, the Never Have I Ever (2020) star accessorized with gold jewelry, knee-high boots and a chic white headband — does it get preppier than this?
As for hair and makeup, Maitreyi opted for simple glam with an emphasis on rosy blush and loose waves.
Lancôme Idôle
The Lancôme Idôle collection is a series of celebrated makeup products and an Eau de Parfum by beauty brand Lancôme. Maitreyi Ramakrishnan and fellow friends of Lancôme, including Joy Sunday, Florence Hunt and Emma Naomi, attended an inaugural tour of the Lancôme Idôle House ahead of its opening to the London public. The event provided an immersive experience for beauty fanatics to explore the Lancôme Idôle line, learn about formulation and indulge in snacks at an in-house cafeteria.
