NCTzens are the backbone of NCity, and we want you to know your peers better. Inspired by NCT’s “university students by day & hackers by night” concept, EnVi wanted to take this opportunity to learn more about both NCTzens’ college majors & their lives outside of college.

Who is your bias in NCT? If your bias attended university, what do you think their major would be? Why?
Yuta would probably be a psychology major because he’s cool like that and also he’s very perceptive and is someone you can approach easily.
What is your college major(s)?
Film major!
Why did you choose that major(s)? What are your career goals?
I chose to be a film major because I enjoy movies and making them. I like making videos in general and I love to be on set. I aspire to be a filmmaker and to make feature films that represent my people in the future!
Outside of college life, what do you do?
I am a video producer for EnVi! So I create and edit kpop related videos for fun. I also make films on the side with friends and I love to travel!

Mark’s major would be Creative Writing.
What is your college major(s)?
Music Production and Composition
Why did you choose that major(s)? What are your career goals?
Music has always been the only thing I liked. I have many goals, one that’s simple to put into words is to write a Musical in its entirety.
Outside of college life, what do you do?
I love spending time watching movies with my mom, taking care of my pets, and before college, I was part of a theater company, we did plays. There is also K-Pop, of course, my biggest hobby. I spend all my off-duty time learning choreos and collecting photocards.
Anything else you would like to add?
I am from Mexico, so the college experience is quite different here. Maybe that’s something that’d be interesting to talk about.

Who is your bias in NCT? If your bias attended university, what do you think their major would be? Why?
Taeyong would be in biology because of his love for animals.
What is your college major(s)?
Performing Arts and Fashion Design
Why did you choose that major(s)? What are your career goals?
My career goals are to become a well-known fashion designer, actress, musician, YouTuber, and photographer.
Outside of college life, what do you do?
I work at a movie tavern, I attend K-pop concerts and regular concerts, I collect K-pop albums/merch/photocards, I host group orders and sell and trade my photocards, I go to cafes and cup sleeve events and boba places, I travel to different parts of the world, I sing and write songs, I play my instruments, I go out to bars, clubs, and parties, and I take photographs everywhere I go.

Besides music, Mark would probably study English since he wanted/wants to be an author!
What is your college major(s)?
Film major/Animation minor
Why did you choose that major(s)? What are your career goals?
I am very interested in stop motion animation and would love to go into that industry someday! Or at least something in animation production, that would be a dream.
Outside of college life, what do you do?
I like to do photography and make stop motion animation videos on YouTube! I also like to play piano and guitar for fun.

Who is your bias in NCT? If your bias attended university, what do you think their major would be? Why?
That’s impossible to choose, they’re all amazing. I feel like a lot of them would go for STEM-related majors or music.
What is your college major(s)?
Human Development and Family Relations
Why did you choose that major(s)? What are your career goals?
I wanted to be in the human service field and this major stuck out more to me than social work. It focuses more on the person and their developmental growth, as well as issues people can face. This includes addiction and mental illness, abuse, and developmental setbacks. Being someone who had experience with needing social workers and other services, made a deep impact on my appreciation for the work they do. I’d like to work in either the Department of Social Services or an organization that focuses on drug prevention for youth.
Outside of college life, what do you do?
I intern at the family court unit in the city I go to school in.
Anything else you would like to add?
I appreciate EnVi for doing this event for all college students! I’m so excited to see all our NCTzens and their majors. Also, the photo of me holding that bottle was from my RA training. We had the highest launch out of all the other RA teams, but they didn’t record it!!

Who is your bias in NCT? If your bias attended university, what do you think their major would be? Why?
I feel like if Doyoung attended university he’d study something like Law or International Business. I think he enjoys being on that side of a project, involved in making sure everyone receives fair treatment or that everything is done the way it’s supposed to be.
What is your college major(s)?
Visual Arts & Photography Major
Why did you choose that major(s)? What are your career goals?
When I was choosing majors I got into a really bad state mentally and I decided to go for a major that would help me express and overcome the emotions and issues I was going through. Between Art and Medical Sciences, which both were a dream of mine while growing up, I decided to go for Visual Arts.
One of my main goals is to direct a Conceptual Photography Project for Vogue; however, recently I’ve been having this (maybe a bit delusional) dream of making a photoshoot for Doyoung, either way, I hope at least one of them comes true.
Outside of college life, what do you do?
Most of the time I work on planning products for my small business (I run a sticker small biz called @ohmydoyoung on Instagram). When possible, I mostly hang out with my friends. I also run a small fanbase dedicated to Doyoung here in my country, Mexico. I think NCT in general has helped me overcome my depression and I think most of my hobbies and professional career go alongside my fan life. Of course, I have other hobbies like reading, embroidering, and baking.

It’s hard to imagine Yuta not doing his own thing, so business/entrepreneurship.
What is your college major(s)?
Biotechnology
Why did you choose that major(s)? What are your career goals?
Because I want to know! I’m curious about the science behind/within humanity.
Outside of college life, what do you do?
I do community service at my neighborhood family center and I am a seamstress.

Renjun’s major would be in the Arts.
What is your college major(s)?
Oceanography
Why did you choose that major(s)? What are your career goals?
I fell in love with the subject. I like how interdisciplinary and hands-on it is, I have a lot of field trips. I’m going to do a Ph.D. and want to be a college professor.
Outside of college life, what do you do?
I like going to the movies, museums, reading, and hiking.

Who is your bias in NCT? If your bias attended university, what do you think their major would be? Why?
I feel that I would find Johnny in the Business Administration building. I think he would do great in Business because he has his parents as examples. He’d be a great helper. Do you think he’d open his fusion of flower shop and cafe?
Mark would undoubtedly be in Communications. He’s great at socializing and his way with words is second to none! I envision his focus as an author like he’s stated himself but I can also see him as a journalist or as a columnist! He would still be relating to music though, so songwriter is probably the most realistic!
What is your college major(s)?
Anthropology
Why did you choose that major(s)? What are your career goals?
I chose anthropology due to its diversified fields and sub-disciplines. Another reason why was because of the Disney movie Atlantis.
My career goal is to trade in archaeology and/or work in a museum later down the road. I currently work with elementary school children, with an emphasis on younger ages like kindergarten. My work with children inspires me to hopefully work in the education department of a museum and plan special events for families. My favorite type is something along the lines of Music in the Gallery! I also want the chance to curate at a museum and put my research on display. What I hope to specifically research is currently unknown, but I’d appreciate taking the time to understand my Peruvian background and explore the ancient civilizations.
Outside of college life, what do you do?
As I mentioned before, I work with elementary students. This is my second year with kindergarteners!
As a hobby, I love being outside in nature despite Florida’s heat, so kayaking is one of the best outdoor activities I enjoy. Another hobby that I enjoy is finding new restaurants to try out even though I’m slightly anxious when I have to order for the first time. I used to do marching band and concert band in high school, and while I am not part of the university’s music program, I still practice the clarinet so I don’t lose the skill.
I love taking a trip to Disney World when I get the chance! I don’t have a favorite park, but if I did have to choose, it would be a fight between Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom.

Qian Kun. His major would be Music Composition.
What is your college major(s)?
BA Humanities, Honors- Curatorship, Masters- Tangible heritage conservation (2022)
Why did you choose that major(s)? What are your career goals?
I have loved history and ancient cultures since I was 12 years old. I wish to curate exhibitions on cultures not often shown in museums (especially minority or outcast groups in society) and I want to preserve and conserve artifacts. Thus, I am doing my Master in Conservation.
Outside of college life, what do you do?
I read and write fanfiction, listen to music, and watch YouTube videos. I didn’t get to have many hobbies because I was working hard or studying, then COVID happened.

Jaehyun would probably be a fashion marketing major. He just seems like the fashion type who hopes to be a visual merchandiser that has the prettiest PowerPoint in class.
What is your college major(s)?
Illustration and Animation
Why did you choose that major(s)? What are your career goals?
When it came time to figure out what I wanted to go to college for, I already knew I dedicated most of my life to drawing and I knew there was nothing at that point that I wanted to do more than be a better artist. But as my time in college was coming to an end, I had figured out that it wasn’t only illustration that was my passion, so I became a fashion minor. I hope to continue to study fashion and make it my career goal. I hope to mix both my creative art with my love for fashion.
Outside of college life, what do you do?
I enjoy going to museums and being surrounded by art. As a New Yorker, I take advantage of the fact that I am surrounded by art almost everywhere I go.
Anything else you would like to add?
For anybody that is starting college or in the middle of the first year of college, it may be hard now and there will be plenty of times that you feel like giving up, but you are a very strong person for even getting this far. College is hard and is a big step in your life but you will overcome every single obstacle that is in your way. There will be times that you fail and that’s OK, you just have to keep going and learn from every mistake that you make.
