Ready, Set, Go!

Teasers were dropped throughout the week before the release of the exciting track. In the group teasers, each NCT U member is seen posing with different styles of masks that cover their entire faces. The grunge and mysterious feeling sparked excitement for NCTzens and what was to come for the NCT 2021 era.

The members of the new NCT U unit include Mark, Xiaojun, Yangyang, Jungwoo, Jeno, Jaemin, Shotaro, Doyoung, and Haechan. The first set of individual teasers feature each member in a grimy office-like room, posing on a couch. The black and white suits sported on the unit paired with the contrast between the dim set and NCT’s astounding visuals allowed for each member to shine. The second round of teasers is set outside, with the members of NCT seen holding different variations of baseball and basketball equipment in the gloomy weather. The loose and leather styling of their clothes add a pop of color to the photos.

Let’s Play Ball

“Universe (Let’s Play Ball)” is a hip-hop and R&B fused dance song that expresses the process of running towards something or someone that you want, comparing the need to the universe. The musical talents of each member are put on display, as the energetic elements and unbeatable verses do nothing but impress! The music video shows off the amazing chemistry of the never-before-seen unit combination. The intense choreography and underground sport-like background allow NCTzens to see a different side to each of the members.
