In a world dominated by social media and controlled by algorithms, fashion has become a blend of past and present, individuality and trendiness. Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, Prada’s co-creative directors, brought our algorithms to life with a Spring Summer 2025 collection that reflects present, past and future trends. “There is a plurality of Prada,” the show notes read, “elements from different eras coexisting simultaneously to challenge any theory of chronology, creating impossible contradictions, points of difference.”

Diving into the Infinite Present

Titled “Infinite Present,” Prada’s Spring Summer 2025 (SS25) collection was unveiled during the second day of Milan Fashion Week. The collection included pieces from Prada’s archives, mixed with novel items such as a feather-adorned dress and a silver reflective skirt with porthole cut-outs. The brand presented optical illusions via baggy trousers and 2D-leather belts stitched inches below the waist, sweaters with faux collars and a jacket with a printed-on fur collar.

Recreating the “infinite panorama offered by the Internet” and channeling the many aesthetics pushed by our social media algorithms, the collection had something for everyone, from your average office worker to your local cowgirl. “Infinite Present” also featured a series of alien-esque sunglasses that brought to mind the space-age designs by Pierre Cardin.

Prada urged us to embrace the unusual with an unconventional pairing: a silver sequined dress with a yellow jacket and a straw visor — reminiscent of the superheroes wielding the “power of creativity” mentioned in the show notes. Through designs as varied as white distressed cowboy boots and cable knit tights held up by a belt, Prada and Simons pushed the boundaries and offered “a rejection of the derivative and expected.”

A Star-studded Audience

Amongst the audience — which elicited fanfare at Fondazione Prada — was K-pop group Enhypen, flawlessly outfitted in sleek menswear. Bridgerton actress Simone Ashley sported a structured black, mini dress with straps fashioned out of diamonds and emeralds. Other notable guests and Prada ambassadors included K-pop stars Karina and Jaehyun, Chinese actor Li Xian, Thai actress and model Toey Jarinporn Joonkiat, Japanese actress Mei Nagano, and Black Panther actress Letitia Wright

Needless to say, Prada’s innovative designs paired with this celebrity-filled audience — the sort that perfectly exemplifies the power of algorithms —  made for yet another Fashion Week hit.
