Saweetie Drops Single of the Summer “NANi”
Calling all the Nani Girls! If you’re in need of a cute banger as the weather gets warmer, Saweetie’s got you! After just two months, Diamonté Quiava Valentin Harper, known professionally as Saweetie, is back with her latest release. On May 17, the Black, Chinese, and Filipino rapper dropped the single alongside the music video for “NANi.”
Saweetie Got That “NANi”
Saweetie is reeling in the cute girl vibes with “NANi.” The single is a fun pop-hip-hop track with an upbeat production and bold lyrics. Saweetie sings confidently about herself, knowing full and well that she has assets coveted by many. While she may seem boastful, it comes from a place of self-love — there’s nothing wrong with flaunting what you’ve got! And Saweetie makes that known as she confidently states “Big bag, I’ma fill it up with money / Yellin’ ‘Who gon’ stop me?’ / You ain’t got the time to clock me.”
The pretty girl energy doesn’t stop there, however. The music video is littered in pink, feeling like a blast from the past with the 2000s vibes and Saweetie being the star of each shot. She is scantily clad in bikinis, crop tops, miniskirts, and shorts — showing off the body she raps about. From the Barbie Dreamhouse modern mansion to Saweetie dancing with her Icy Girls with smiles on their faces, “NANi” is for the girls just being themselves through and through. Through her soft voice and bold rap coupled with the bubblegum visuals, Saweetie perfectly captures the importance of self-confidence especially as she closes the song out with the daring line “‘Cause who gon’ stop me, b*tch?”

Saweetie hit the ground running with her debut single “ICY GRL” in October, 2017, hitting No.16 on Billboard’s Rhythmic Airplay chart. The single is currently at 136 million views on YouTube. Since her debut, the rapper has performed at Head In The Clouds, collaborated with K-pop girl group IVE, and been nominated for a Grammy in 2022. Saweetie has tried various genres and hit so many milestones in her career, there’s no telling what she’ll do next.
