Who Are Snow Man?

Snow Man are a J-pop group that formed in 2012 and officially debuted in 2020. The group boasts a variety of talents. From acrobatics, choreography, modeling, comedy, broadcasting, to acting, this group has it all. Snow Man has been active in the Takizawa kabuki plays, which set the foundation for the group. The Takizawa kabuki combines elements of a live concert and the traditional Japanese kabuki, which perfectly showcase the members’ performance abilities. Recently, member Shota Watanabe was cast as the lead in the romance drama, Aoshima-kun wa Ijiwaru (Aoshima-kun Is Mean). Snow Man sing the show’s opening song, “君は僕のもの (Kimi wa Bokuno mono),” and add another piece to their list of soundtracks.

“You Are Mine” in This Sweet Love Story

From the opening of the music video, the group invites their audience to engage in the fun. Shota waves to viewers, greeting them in the format of a livestream. He claims the group has some free time and promises a surprise while glancing at the members hidden off-camera. The video cuts to shots of the members engaged in various summer activities. Comedic antics ensue as the group explores their villa and entertain themselves with food and fireworks.

Loosely following the plot of Aoshima-kun Is Mean, the lyrics show the slow development of a relationship. With the incorporation of first-person point of view shots, the members personally serenade their audience. Though they once were loveless, the members sing of how they have changed over time. Funky guitar, keyboard, and strings come together to make the fresh sound for “Kimi wa Bokuno mono.” Instrumentation gradually becomes more full as the song progresses, reflecting their hearts full of feelings on the verge of spilling out. “You are mine” is repeated throughout the song, a sweet confession to how devoted Snow Man are. With the final line, they up the romance factor to declare, “All my love, I’m yours.”
