Spreading Positivity

During an interview with Singles Magazine, STAYC’s leader, Sumin, shared that the title track “Teddy Bear” represents STAYC’s identity. Through the singles “ASAP,” “RUN2U,” and “STEREOTYPE,” a high-energy sound has become STAYC’s trademark. The bright and energetic rhythm of “Teddy Bear” clearly follows this style. Opening with electric guitar riffs, however, the group elevated their signature sound by exploring the pop-punk genre. In “Teddy Bear,” the sextet tell the story of a girl who finds strength in her hero—her teddy bear, which is sure to uplift listeners. “We are all still new to this life / There is no right answer,” they sing in the pre-chorus.

STAYC come to each other’s rescue in the visual for the song, demonstrating how the group can draw strength from one another. A surprise animation of members Sieun, Yoon, and J, reminiscent of the Powerpuff Girls, helped bring this message to life. Radiating positivity, the group transformed an ordinary bus into a disco party using their powers. During the party, STAYC gave viewers a glimpse into the song’s choreography as they imitated teddy bear ears during the hook.
