Prince Royce – “How Deep Is Your Love”
Prince Royce has been a resounding force in the music industry for over a decade, and he is continuing his stride with his latest single, “How Deep Is Your Love.” Known for classic bachata hits like “Darte un Beso” and “Corazon Sin Cara,” Prince Royce is a beloved global icon. As a multiple platinum-award-winning Latin superstar, Prince Royce decided to add his flair toward his favorite classic hits. “How Deep Is Your Love” takes a modern bachata spin on the legendary Bee Gees classic. Audiences got their first listen at this year’s Premio Lo Nuestro, where in addition to unveiling “How Deep Is Your Love, Prince Royce also performed his renditions of “My Girl” by The Temptations and “Dancing in the Moonlight” by King Harvest.
“I’ve always loved the classics — those songs that never go out of style and evoke powerful memories,” Prince Royce shared in a press release. “My mom tells me she used to listen to ‘How Deep Is Your Love’ while working in a factory, and that’s how she fell in love with these songs. With my music, I hope to give this timeless hit a new life, reimagined through my style and roots, for new generations.” This reimagined version also features Spanglish, transcending the boundaries of language. Prince Royce, who already has an esteemed collection of classics under his belt, is ready to share his love of English classics through his talentry.
Kento Nakajima – “MONTAGE”
Building upon his ever elevating career as an accomplished actor and singer, Kento Nakajima released his first official solo single, “MONTAGE.” Nakajima carved out a new path for himself as a solo artist in 2024, and his talents are on full display with this new track. “MONTAGE” is a pop track with booming synths, creating a refined and alluring soundscape. The dialed-down pre-chorus builds up to a powerful chorus that showcases Nakajima’s impressive vocal range. This track also serves as the opening theme for the anime The Dinner Table Detective.
Nakajima flaunts his acting skills in the accompanying music video, where he fittingly plays the role of a captivating detective. When he isn’t hunting for clues, Nakajima breaks into sharp choreography. As a multifaceted artist now diving into solo music endeavors, Nakajima’s career is one to keep on your radar!
AIMERS – “Starry Night”
Get ready to defrost with a warm, summery song from AIMERS! AIMERS are a 6-member K-pop group that debuted in 2022 under Hyper Rhythm. Their songs “Fireworks,” “Where We Go,” and “Cherish” were recently featured on the hit Netflix series XO, Kitty, drawing more attention to the group. “Starry Night” merges retro beats and pop elements that tap into a vibrant atmosphere. The music video captures a fun and fresh vibe as the members are shown hanging out on top of a parking garage. From sharing snacks to playful moments of lighting sparklers, AIMERS are radiating light and youthful energy that will make everyone eager for summer.
Ed Sheeran – “Azizam”
Ed Sheeran has surprised and captivated the hearts of many Persian fans when he first teased his latest single “Azizam” on Persian New Year. The word “Azizam” means “my beloved” in Farsi, making for a perfect love song. As mentioned in Sheeran’s Instagram post,the track was inspired by music producer Ilya Salmanzadeh’s heritage, blending hints of rhythms that echo Persian music with modern pop beats. This marks a monumental moment in music, as Sheeran expresses cultural appreciation by highlighting the roots and inspiration behind “Azizam.” Sheeran shares more candid moments in a YouTube video, where he documented the creation process of the song.
CLOSE YOUR EYES – “All My Poetry”
CLOSE YOUR EYES are a new K-pop group consisting of seven members: Jeon Minwook, Ma Jingxiang, Jang Yeojun, Kim Sungmin, Song Seungho, Sakurada Kenshin, and Seo Kyoungbae. After competing on JTBC’s survival show Project 7, the group officially debuted on April 2 under UNCORE. Their title track “All My Poetry” took storm on social media platforms like TikTok and YouTube as advertisements for the music video and gained widespread traction. The song transports listeners back in time with its nostalgic R&B and early 2000s flair. Along with its visually pleasing music video, it shows small aspects that stop and rewind time, creating a new story where all the members meet each other. The lyrics express a sense of yearning with lines like, “All the poems and novels within me, / are stories embroidered with you.”
Star2 x Sprite x Luh Kel – “Where Would You Go?”
Star2 is heating up in collaboration with Thai rapper Sprite and American rapper Luh Kel in his latest song “Where Would You Go?” The song intertwines English and Thai, creating a distinct melodic hip-hop flow. Reflecting on the frustration that comes from questioning someone’s loyalty to you, throughout the song, the artists’ sing lyrics like: “You did me wrong when I knew I should have saw the signs,” and “Where would you go if I had no one left?”
This collaboration was one of connection and cultural fusion. “I wanted to bring Luh Kel, a huge R&B talent to Thailand and introduce him to Sprite, a longtime fan. The song carries out an R&B vibe that works perfectly with Sprite’s vocals. Kel and Sprite became great friends and we all loved exploring Thai culture and food together,” Star2 stated in a press release. “Where Would You Go?” is one of the tracks on Star2’s upcoming EP, No Place Like Home, which is slated for release on May 9.
Ben&Ben – “Saranggola”
The summer vibes are in full swing with Ben&Ben’s newest single. Ben&Ben are a Manila-based band formed by twin brothers Paolo and Miguel Benjamin Guico. As the years went on, they decided to expand into a full-blown musical ensemble. “Saranggola” taps into Ben&Ben’s signature indie folk-pop sound. “Saranggola,” which translates to “kite” in English, is about preserving long-standing friendships. Just like a kite, Ben&Ben share that they will hold onto these friendships no matter where the wind, or life, takes them: “The kite will fly high to the heavens / Is it time to bid our past goodbye? / Wherever the north wind blows us / We won’t trade our friendship.” This sweet message of camaraderie makes this track the perfect soundtrack for a day spent with your loved ones.
Annural Khalid – “Chori Chupke”
Annural Khalid is a Pakistani pop artist, ready to make her mark on the world with her sweet vocals and sincere lyricism. Khalid made waves last summer with her viral collaboration with Arabic hip-hop artist, Maanu, at Coke Studio Pakistan. The video for the song, “Jhol,” sits at a staggering 133 million views. Khalid’s newest single, “Chori Chupke,” is a more R&B-adjacent pop song. The mid-tempo beats and laid-back vibe are the perfect accompaniment for Khalid’s enchanting vocals. She describes this song as one to send “if you’re tired of waiting for him to make a move.”
The cheeky music video shows off Khalid’s acting chops, as she strategizes how to approach her crush — who is also conveniently her neighbor! Chock full of relatable moments, it shows the reality of being a lovergirl. “Chori Chupke” speaks to those in love, both in its sonic elements and witty music video.
