Who says you can’t commute in style? For TAKARA WONG studios, a maximalist, rule-breaking energy isn’t just carried, it’s embodied. The contemporary Thai brand made its sophomore showing at NYFW for the Thai designer’s “Up to the Sky” showcase on February 13 at the One World Observatory. The show marked a significant milestone for Thailand’s creative industry on the New York fashion scene.

Translating their ‘Silently Loud’ philosophy into footwear, TAKARA WONG Studios has collaborated with NYC footwear brand TWOGAA New York, reimagining the brand’s classic Adieu Being Derby silhouette in bold, American-western inspired animal print leathers, balancing restraint and rebellion. From a fierce and fiery leopard print, to an aloof yet refined snakeskin pattern, the collaboration presented three different pieces rooted in craftsmanship and attitude — reflecting a shared vision of quiet confidence and unapologetic expression.

City Lifestyle Redefined

Born from an architectural eye, TWOGAA New York seeks to redefine workwear that feels elevated, but still functional for that modern urban New Yorker lifestyle. Combined with TAKARA WONG Studios’ gritty and raw brand DNA, their FW26 collaboration offers more than a wardrobe essential. It’s the loudest shoe collection you’ll ever see, yet craftsmanship and intentional storytelling sit true at the core. With a mixture of patterns, a fierce leopard print here or a zebra pattern there, embracing diverse cultures ultimately brings this collection to life. Rock ‘n’ roll influences filter through to the ‘loud’ vibe of the shoes, but their practical and sleek shape and finish is what truly makes them stand out from the crowd. In true TAKARA WONG Studios fashion, each shoe made a striking statement down the runway.

From Bangkok to New York

The current cultural leaders in the fashion landscape are starting to shift, and all eyes lead to Bangkok. TAKARA WONG Studios draws inspiration from different cultures and subcultures from all around the world, streamlining design that is sharp in tailoring and ultimately fierce in Thai identity. ‘Trial and Error’ is the beating heart of the brand, where founder and creative director Thakorn Wannawong (Champ) leads with feeling rather than what sells. They focus on the imperfections, blending culture, design, and individuality.

Therefore, collaborating with TWOGAA New York not only felt intentional, but natural. TWOGAA creates footwear that is ultra comfort sculpted for cities, the perfect workwear-to-lifestyle balance that modern professionals seek in their routine. Like the brand boasts – “Elegant enough for work. Comfortable for everywhere else.” Paired with TAKARA WONG Studios’ experimental and maximalist ethos, whether it’s through mismatching aerodynamic silhouettes with different techniques time and time again, both brands seize each of their own USP’s to create pieces that transform traditional craftsmanship into something more refined and polished. From Bangkok to New York, or to the world as a matter of fact, TAKARA WONG Studios proves well that nicheness in individual expression is never a weakness. And TWOGAA New York agrees.

TAKARA WONG Studios and TWOGAA New York are both available for purchase and stocked exclusively at shop3ny, 448 Broome St, SoHo, NYC.
