Every Paris Fashion Week, showgoers turn up to the City of Lights flaunting their very best looks and demonstrating why, in the words of Maria Callas, “Paris dictates fashion to the whole world.” As per tradition, this Spring Summer 2024 season brought no shortage of spectacular style moments to the streets. Stepping out to the biggest fashion shows; editors, buyers, influencers, and celebrities amped their fashion game with a motley combination of trends and styles.

What’s Trending

With the fall season underway, black and neutral color palettes dominated the front rows. There was a parade of black coats, blazers, and jackets at nearly every show. The classic Little Black Dress was another favorite, but showgoers opted for unconventional iterations of this wardrobe staple — adorned with 3D embellishments, sequined textiles, or á la Rick Owens. Long dresses with cutout details, as seen on Lena Mahfouf and Meghann Fahy, and bold prints — as worn by Esther Yu — were in too.

Neutral matching sets, as those sported by K-pop star THE8 and other Givenchy show guests, proved the allure of a full look. But there were pops of color too. Although many believed the Barbie craze was long forgotten, a few VIPs made a case for Barbiecore pink.

On the accessory front, baguette bags and statement sunglasses are still causing a furor among fashionistas. And so are the jewelry items that add a dash of versatility to the most minimalist looks, including dangling and cuff earrings. If Fashion Week street style is any indicator, they will surely continue to trend in the coming seasons.

Beauty-wise; bobs, bangs, sleek ponytails and braids were the preferred hairstyles of well-versed fashionistas. Barbie-inspired platinum blonde hair is still á la mode and as spotted on the Parisian streets, pink lipstick will always be a safe but stylish choice. And, by the way, if you had any doubts, fashion is still in its bow era.
