Turkish Icon Hande Erçel Dazzles at the Cannes Film Festival with Pomellato
Turkish screen queen Hande Erçel is no stranger to glamming up for global events, from red carpets to front rows. In her latest style exploit, the actor stunned global audiences with her first-ever montée des marches at the 77th Cannes Film Festival. On May 16, the Bambaşka Biri star delivered a striking fashion moment on the red carpet of Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis.

Cannes Return
Since she first touched down in Cannes to attend the city’s prestigious film festival in 2023, Hande Erçel has raised anticipation for her stylish public appearances. This year, the Turkish actress finally graced the steps of Palais des Festivals, making her official red carpet debut at La Croisette as a guest of luxury jeweler Pomellato. To mark the occasion, Hande embraced the glamour and otherwordly luxury that the French festival is recognized for.
The actress — who is globally revered for her roles in productions such as Aşk Laftan Anlamaz (2016) and Love is in the Air (2020) — turned the red carpet into her personal runway with a Balmain dress sourced from the brand’s Pre Fall 2023 collection. (ICYMI, Hande boasts a growing friendship with the Parisian house and has previously sat front row at the Fall Winter 2024 Paris Fashion Week show.)
Pomellato Elegance
The main focus of any Cannes look, however, is the fine jewelry — as many high-end luxury jewelers leverage the occasion to display their most precious creations. Hande, of course, had first dibs on unreleased products from Pomellato’s high jewelry collection, set for release in June.
In a press statement, the Italian brand shared, “Hande Erçel is a top international face who epitomizes Pomellato’s elegance and sophisticated style.” As such, the actress was granted the privilege of sporting a tanzanite and sapphire jewelry set (“Il Grande Blu”) comprising a choker, matching earrings and a statement ring.
The purple-blue choker featured baroque-cut tanzanites and was entirely covered in blue and violet sapphire pavé. Meanwhile, the ring featured a 26.86-carat tanzanite, surrounded by a pavé of diamonds and blue and violet sapphires. The dangling chain earrings matched the choker’s design and were entirely capped with purple-blue sapphire pavé.
As per Pomellato, the high jewelry set drew inspiration from architect Gio Ponti’s work and epitomizes Milanese heritage and craftsmanship.
