“Pero No Te Enamores”

Since the group’s 2017 debut, Fuerza Regida has experienced significant growth in the Latin American and North American markets. The band, consisting of Jesús Ortíz Paz, Samuel Jáimez, Khrystian Ramos, José “Pelón” García and Moisés López, unveiled their most recent album on July 25. Pero No Te Enamores was released amid Fuerza Regida’s eponymous tour, which started in June and will unfold through December. Each show features on-stage gimmicks and vocal performances that immerse fans in Fuerza Regida’s world.

On October 13, the band made its debut in the Mexican capital to a sold-out Plaza de Toros México. It was a meaningful performance, inaugurated by a guest appearance from Mexican singer-songwriter Bellakath, who took the stage during “Fresita.” Fuerza Regida performed their roster of música mexicana hits, including “911,” “TQM” and, of course, the namesake “Pero No Te Enamores.” As they performed in a venue so tied to their sonic roots, Fuerza Regida cemented their standing as leaders of the international regional Mexican music scene.

On the Rise

Fuerza Regida is by no means a new name on the scene — the group has constructed their profile for about a decade, cementing a place among the biggest names in the corridos tumbados genre.  However, Pero No Te Enamores has marked a turning point in Fuerza Regida’s career. The album became the first-ever Musica Mexicana album to debut at the top of Apple Music’s All-Genre and Dance Album charts. Additionally, it debuted at #2 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart and #23 on the Billboard 200 — both historic achievements on their own.

As the cherry on top of a fantastic year, the band received eight nominations at the upcoming 2024 Billboard Latin Music Awards. Frontrunner Paz, known as “JOP,” will also be recognized as one of the 2024 Latin Billboard Power Players for his notable contributions to Latin music.
