Conan Gray – “Holidays”

Whether you’re hearing “Holidays” for the first time, or you’ve been waiting for its release for weeks, it’s finally time to shamelessly play it on repeat. “Holidays” was first played at Gray’s Madison Square Garden performance on September 30. After much love from fans, the singer posted a video of him singing an acoustic version of the song on social media. He also dropped an occasional promotional post (or two). Similar to his song “Astronomy,” from the album Superache, “Holidays” covers the topic of platonic heartbreak.

Gray sings about the unknown and unexpected change that often happens when friendships drift apart, no matter how badly people try to keep them together. During the chorus he sings, “But we keep on growing, didn’t think it’d show, but I see it on your face.” The song’s title comes from the time of year that people often go back home and reminisce about what their friendships used to be while reflecting on everything that has changed. “Holiday” has been released only six months after the drop of Gray’s third full-length album, Found Heaven, which he is on tour for now until mid-November.

KISS OF LIFE – “Get Loud”

The girls are back and they’re better — and sexier — than ever. KISS OF LIFE have released their latest hip hop/Latin-fusion track “Get Loud,” along with six other new songs for their album Lose Yourself. Consisting of members Julie, Natty, Belle, and Haneul, KISS OF LIFE have never attached themselves to only one genre. Finding inspiration in anything and everything, this new song is a fast-paced dance track with heavy Latin influence, from the instrumental to the movement of the vocals.

The music video for “Get Loud” not only stands out for its production quality and beautiful outfit choices, but also for the seamless transitions between all four girls. The camera’s movement is fast and keeps up with every movement of the group, though it simultaneously focuses heavily on the individual skills of the four performers. While KISS OF LIFE are known for their futuristic music videos with perfectly-curated dance choruses, they find a way to switch it up every comeback and add something new to the mix. Lose Yourself is their last addition to their discography prior to taking on their first tour, “KISS ROAD,” where fans will be getting loud alongside the group all of November and December.

Yasmina Moonlight – “Level Up”

It’s out with the toxic and in with confidence on Yasmina Moonlight’s new single “Level Up.” This anti-scrub song will not only have listeners dancing to its catchy groove, but also coming into their best selves from the empowering lyrics. Shining light on negativity, Yasmina Moonlight shoos away the attention of a past lover and tells them to “level up” after coming to acknowledge her worth. She sings, “You’re way too toxic, boy save your excuses / You’re up to no good, I’m calling your bluff” in a chic and sexy tone for those looking for an uplifting anthem.

“Level Up” comes only two months after the release of Yasmina Moonlight’s debut single “Habibi (My Baby),” released in September. She was seen on X Factor Dubai in 2023 where she was able to grow her voice and her following. Since then, Yasmina has found her sound as she created a very individual blend of mainstream pop elements with Arabic and Hindi influence.

Maverick Sabre – “Lay Down On Me”

Maverick Sabre’s Burn The Right Things Down is here, and it’s packed with raw emotion and soulful vibes. His latest single, “Lay Down On Me,” produced by Zach Nahome (the genius behind hits for Bakar and PinkPantheress), dives into that intense, unshakable connection between two people. The track is a heartfelt anthem about love’s pull with lyrics such as “Just lay down on me, ‘cause I’ll never go.” The black-and-white music video brings the song to life, with Maverick and his band playing outdoors. MoonD’Shake – “Bubbles”

Taiwanese indie band MoonD’Shake have just dropped their brand-new single “Bubbles,” marking their first release since last year’s debut album EGG SALA. Known for their dreamy sound, the band takes a softer, more reflective direction with this song. “Bubbles” kicks off with a soothing omnichord melody that blends perfectly with bass and piano. Meanwhile, Lynn Hsu’s relaxed vocals float over the smooth arrangement, crafted by producer Kuo-Yen Huang. The track also plays with tension, as guitarist John Huang’s melodies build an emotional undercurrent that complements the song’s theme of life’s fragility.

Inspired by the fleeting nature of life, “Bubbles” explores how everything — like bubbles — can disappear in an instant. The single teases the more introspective vibe MoonD’Shake is heading toward on their next album, which has been shaped by personal growth and new perspectives.

ROSÉ and Bruno Mars – “APT.”

It all started with a video from Paris Fashion Week. In it, the South Korean superstar teaches Emmanuel Tomasini (Saint Laurent’s VP of Communications Americas) how to play a Korean drinking game. Alongside Rosé, Kiko Mizuhara, Laura Harrier, Maika Dillon Monroe, and Devon Carlson join in on the fun and chant “APT. APT. APT.” to kick off the game. Three weeks later, ROSÉ posted a polaroid with Bruno Mars on her Instagram. Although seemingly from out-of-the-blue, the “Die With A Smile” singer also shared a photo with Rosé on his Instagram — with a little Wattpad-esque story in his caption, too. Of course, they had to play a little game to welcome “APT.,” their new collab single, which dropped on October 18.

Co-written by Rosé and produced by Bruno Mars (with Cirkut, Omer Fedi & Rogét Chahayed), the track is a free-flowing bit of fun from the very start. Opening with the chant from the game itself, “APT.” then transitions into a lively pop rock sound with electric guitar highlights. Per a press release, the global icon noted: “APT.’ is actually my favorite Korean drinking game that I play with my friends back home. It’s so simple, puts a smile on your face, and breaks the ice at any party.” As the lead single off of her upcoming album rosie, “APT.” brings unfiltered joy and playfulness to Rosé’s solo discography.

And it’s hard not to smile while listening to “APT.” or while watching its music video. Directed by Daniel Ramos and Bruno Mars himself, “fun” was clearly the keyword driving the creation. From sticker heads of Rosé and Bruno Mars bobbing from side-to-side to Rosé running around while Bruno plays the drums (and Bruno running around while Rosé plays the drums), the singers’ synergy was the main star. So take a listen — or two…or three — to “APT.” We definitely don’t want to quit this game if Rosé and Bruno Mars are playing!

CHANMINA – “Forever”

If you’re looking for a song to celebrate finally cutting them off, Japanese rapper and pop star CHANMINA has the perfect track for you with her latest release, “Forever.”

With a funky, fresh pop beat, CHANMINA’s gritty vocals bid farewell to her ex-lover. She sings, “I’m happy today/Because I was able to say goodbye to you.”
