ATEEZ – โ€œAdrenalineโ€

As part of the latest album in their Golden Hour series, K-pop group ATEEZ is back with an energetic track, โ€œAdrenaline.โ€ Despite the way the world seems to slow, the members run at their own intense pace in the music video. โ€œYou know my taste / Move outta way,โ€ sings Wooyoung in the intro, effectively stating how the group refuses to stop their momentum as artists.

โ€œHardcore, thatโ€™s the way we do it,โ€ raps Hongjoong in the first verse, referencing ATEEZโ€™s signature EDM sound and intensity when performing. From the first sounds of the bass bouncing in the intro, listeners canโ€™t help but fall in step to the rhythm. The instrumental builds up to the rush of the chorus, synth thrumming as the membersโ€™ voices grow louder.

When the beat drops, the sound echoes the blood rushing in your ears from adrenaline. As exciting as it is to observe as the audience or dance along to, “Adrenaline” contains a deeper message. ATEEZ encourages others to pursue passion without hesitation, as thereโ€™s โ€œNo pit stop, no time for the slow.โ€ Caught on the dance floor wanting more? J. Cole – โ€œTwo Sixโ€

Rapper J. Cole revealed in an Instagram post that he created his latest album, The Fall-Off, as possibly the last album in his discography. With this fact in mind, his words hold more emotional weight and passion. In โ€œTwo Six,โ€ J. Cole ruminates on his career and pays homage to the city he grew up in, Fayetteville.

From using his hometownโ€™s nickname as the songโ€™s title to the shots presented in the music video, J. Cole shows how in touch he is with his origins. Rather than exaggerated humility, he displays how his confidence is grounded in his identity in โ€œTwo Six.โ€ J. Cole subverts expectations, referencing the scale of his success as an artist hailing from a small town in the first verse. The songโ€™s instrumental further supports this message with the incorporation of string sections alongside heavy drum loops, an unexpected blend of the classical hip-hop genres.

The second verse speeds up J. Coleโ€™s flow, before he slows and sings softly in the outro.ย  He also issues a warning to both his past self and new artists: โ€œBe careful of the devil and the melodies you hum / Smilin’, goin’ viral while infectin’ all of the young.โ€ Acutely aware of the influence popular artists have, J. Cole has become careful to spread more messages for good.

HNATA – โ€œshouldโ€™ve known betterโ€

Indonesian singer-songwriter HNATA brings the best of electronica and indie-pop in his new single, โ€œshouldโ€™ve known better.โ€ Designated as the โ€œtrash pop professionalโ€ on his socials, HNATA channels the pastiche of youth in this track. He laments about the weight of imposter syndrome and the burnout that comes with being an artist, singing โ€œthat thereโ€™s days like these / got me kicking and screaming.โ€ The contrast of the frustratingly relatable lyrics paired with the upbeat electronic beat cements the track as an easy-listening anthem.

The song fits right at home among staples of the genre like Porter Robinson, who HNATA named in a press release as an inspiration. The single gives listeners a hint of what to expect from HNATAโ€™s upcoming debut album SAYONARA!, slated for release in mid-2026. Should listeners want a fresh take on electronic bedroom pop, โ€œshouldโ€™ve known betterโ€ is a great place to start.

MONSTA X – โ€œgrowing painsโ€

Just days after kicking off their 2026 world tour THE X : NEXUS, K-pop group MONSTA X return with their first new track of the year, โ€œgrowing pains.โ€ Adding to their repertoire of English singles, โ€œgrowing painsโ€ is a heartwarming track reflecting on MONSTA Xโ€™s journey to where they are now. A reassuring, upbeat acoustic guitar accompanies tender lyrics as the members sing about their resolve to branch out and grow. โ€œI left home behind when I was just eighteen,โ€ member Joohoney sings, โ€œPoured my soul into the stage, thinking who I’ll be.โ€ The track was released alongside a casual, self-filmed music video featuring the members at the beach, in the studio, and walking the streets while mouthing the lyrics to the song.

The single comes at a bittersweet time. Youngest member I.M is scheduled to enlist in the military on February 9 to complete his mandatory conscription. In preparation, he took to the stage at the KSPO Dome in Seoul and, with the help of his group members, shaved his head in front of MONSTA Xโ€™s devoted fans, MONBEBE. Although fans across the world will miss him on stage, theyโ€™ll have โ€œgrowing painsโ€ to comfort them in this time of bittersweet growth.

rhyu – โ€œGo Away Greenโ€

Singaporean singer-songwriter rhyu is here to give listeners all the relatability they need with โ€œGo Away Green.โ€ With a thick R&B tempo, โ€œGo Away Greenโ€ dives into the concept of imposter syndrome and how mentally difficult it can be to get over this mindset.

While the song may initially sound like itโ€™s asking the color to leave, the title โ€œGo Away Greenโ€ is actually the name of a very specific shade of the color. In a press release, itโ€™s explained that โ€œโ€˜Go Away Greenโ€™ refers to the paint colour of the same name that is used in theme parks to camouflage buildings and infrastructure in the background to divert attention away from them and allow parkgoers to focus on the colourful rides.โ€ The song plays off of this concept by rhyu relating to Go Away Green and asking to turn into the color.

Through this single, rhyu has brought listeners a song that she hopes will bring comfort to those who need it. Since this is her first release of the year, sheโ€™s sure to have more up her sleeve for 2026.

ZAYN – โ€œDie For Meโ€

Released as a preview of his upcoming album, KONNAKOL, ZAYN transitions to a dark sound in โ€œDie For Me.โ€ Accompanied by bass riffs, crashing drums, and deep synth, ZAYNโ€™s heavy sentiments are audibly felt. Themed around the betrayal of a lover who he trusted to support him, this track signals ZAYNโ€™s new musical direction.

ZAYN claims his lover has lied about their true feelings, and that their love was not strong enough to make them stay together. Pushed past the point of sympathy, he sings, โ€œIf you have a heart, rip it up, let it bleed / ‘Cause you said you would die for me.โ€ ZAYNโ€™s tone is heavy with emotion, truly distraught at the broken promises between lovers.

Visuals from the music video capture the turmoil ZAYN experiences after heartbreak. Lightning strikes, fire spreads, rain pours, and wind hurls debris around as he stews in the lies of a lover. โ€œYou said you would die for me,โ€ he laments in the chorus, โ€œGave you my heart, don’t you dare let it go.โ€ The relationship between the two lovers is shaky, caused by the mistrust between them. For all those who find themselves mourning a relationship during this month of love, ZAYN is here to sympathize.

Tame Impala and JENNIE – โ€œDracula – JENNIE Remixโ€

Courtesy of Columbia Records under exclusive license from Tame Impala

Since Kevin Parker debuted as Tame Impala from his Perth, Australia, home on Myspace in 2007, he has been carefully crafting his sonic world. Though it is a little bit of Pink Floyd-cum-Sylvester with a little bit of Grace Jones sprinkled throughout, failing to note Parkerโ€™s own flair for a psychedelic, electronic pop rock sound would be an injustice to his musical savviness. Itโ€™s something he flexes in his discography by performing and producing all the vocals and instrumentations solo, rarely inviting other artists for collaborations.

So, itโ€™s only natural that the musical world was set abuzz when Tame Impala announced that JENNIE is hopping on a song. And not just any song โ€” the BLACKPINK member is putting her own twist on โ€œDracula,โ€ Tame Impalaโ€™s first shot at a Billboard Hot 100 entry. Her addition to the synthy disco track never feels shoehorned. JENNIE lays down bars that nod to the original release, reaching vocals that float as high as Tame Impalaโ€™s own. Itโ€™s no surprise that sheโ€™s someone whoโ€™d fit right into this atmospheric track; anyone who has listened to her solo album Ruby (and fell particularly in love with โ€œZENโ€ and โ€œSeoul Cityโ€) would know.

4EVE – โ€œGirls Like Meโ€

Courtesy of XOXO Entertainment and 88rising

What does a TikTok-famous model, a Miss Teen Laos runner-up, and a YG Entertainment auditionee have in common? They โ€” Punch, Hannah, and Aheye, respectively โ€” are now members of the Thai girl group 4EVE, a septet that has Mind, Jorin, Taaom, and Fai rounding out the lineup. Though theyโ€™ve been garnering various awards in Thailandโ€™s music scene, the girls are now expanding globally thanks to a collaboration with 88rising.

The collaboration also marks an evolution of their sound. Since striking the partnership in mid-2025, 4EVE has incorporated trap, hip hop, dance, and hyperpop into their repertoire. Their latest EP GLOW was the genesis of this experimentation, paving the way for this new single to feel familiar, yet fresh. โ€œGirls Like Meโ€ treats this sound as a canvas for their version of femininity, which is simultaneously singularly unique (demonstrated through their distinct individual styles) and ubiquitous. The latter is told through a perspective of independence and confidence ร  la Sabrina Carpenterโ€™s โ€œManchild.โ€ After all, girls like them โ€œdonโ€™t play with boys like youโ€ โ€” boys who have an awful choice in friends, think diamonds can buy their love, and toy with their hearts.

Mitski – โ€œIโ€™ll Change for Youโ€

Known for her heartbreaking hits, Mitski is back with the pre-release single โ€œIโ€™ll Change for Youโ€ ahead of the February 27 release of her eighth studio album, Nothingโ€™s About to Happen to Me. In true Mitski fashion, the song carries a melancholy tone as the singer reflects on a love now lost. With vocals backed by The Land, an orchestral ensemble, the track is especially reminiscent of early 2000s warm jazz-pop.

The video for the song plays off of the fast-moving performance art style that one might see in a pop-art museum. One second, Mitskiโ€™s face is close to the camera, smiling brightly with quick-moving art layered over her face to alter her appearance. The next second, she is seen slowly moving and breathing in the emotions she is feeling. In the end, Mitski is seen screaming, releasing her true emotions. The singer was the creative director on the project, as well as the sole composer and lyricist of the track. With every note and visual under Mitskiโ€™s control, this song and the upcoming album are going to stand as testaments to her current musicality and where she will be taking listeners in the future.
