On May 10, Gold House hosted its annual Gold Gala at the Music Center in downtown Los Angeles. For the fourth consecutive year, the organization brought together API stars from different industries across the world to champion Asian excellence. This year was no exception with the attendees showing up in style to celebrate their heritage, and each other. From classic flowing gowns, to bold structured silhouettes, there was a showcase of creativity and elegance on the gold carpet.

Liza Soberano

Filipina mega star Liza Soberano floated down the gold carpet in an ethereal soft green gown by Zhaoyi Yu. Styled by rising star Katie Qian, Soberano’s elegant look was both dainty and structured, with gossamer green skirt panels building into a blooming flower petal shape. Accented with coordinating, delicate silver jewellery and a sleek updo, Soberano’s look gave that old Hollywood look that screamed star power.
Sohee Park

Designer and couture darling Sohee Park was a vision of elegance in one of her own creations. Wearing a look from her own Miss Sohee S/S 2024 collection, the embellished corset bodice bloomed into a dramatic, floral-printed skirt, blending craftsmanship with romantic fantasy. With every small detail dripping in opulence, Park brought her couture vision to life.
Laufey

Modern jazz sensation Laufey brought her signature vintage glamour to the gold carpet in an ethereal Huishan Zhang gown. With a sheer blush lace bodice and flowing metallic skirt, the ensemble mirrored the timeless yes contemporary style of her music.
Megan Thee Stallion

Right on the heels of a stunning Met Gala look, Megan Thee Stallion made a daring entrance on the gold carpet in a custom Quine Li ensemble styled by Eric Archibald. The statement-making circular structural accents at the bust and hips and the sheer lace bodice on the gown with a thigh high slit turned heads and highlighted her signature fearless approach to fashion.
ROWOON

Korean actor and singer Kim Seokwoo, known mononymously as Rowoon, made his Gold Gala debut this year. Walking the gold carpet in a textured metallic blazer paired with a subtly striped shirt and a pair of simple black trousers, Rowoon looked effortlessly suave.
Leah Lewis

Radiant and regal, Elemental and Matlock star Leah Lewis turned heads in a gilded Walter Mendez Atelier gown that combined Old Hollywood glamour with a contemporary edge. Styled by Ana Tanaka, the sculptural silhouette, oversize bell sleeves, and high slit served drama while the metallic gold finish paid homage to the evening’s theme of Asian excellence.
Sherry Cola

Comedian and actress Sherry Cola was all seriousness in her dramatic, vintage-inspired red carpet dress. A monochrome, plum purple look from heels to hat, Sherry’s outfit included a turtleneck dress, smart structured blazer, and ornate, hand-beaded cap by SHAO New York. Looking the part of the ultimate heartthrob, actor Ok Taecyeon graced the Gold Gala in a structured double-breasted blazer accented with silver statement buttons. Paired with a crisp white poplin shirt and tailored trousers that balanced the bold outerwear, the full look highlighted his classic, polished style.
Eugene Lee Yang

YouTube sensation turned actor and author, Eugene Lee Yang, made an extravagant appearance in a traditional-inspired gown. Styled by TKTK, the gown features a dramatic kimono sleeve that drapes nearly to the floor and a black latex collar. For a dramatic flair, the gown is intricately painted with gold, red, and black. The makeup by TKTK draws comparison to geisha makeup with a white base, a dark eye, prominent blush, and a bold red lip. To complete the look, Yang posed with a pair of roses — one red and one black.
AGNEZ MO

Christine Chiu

Known for gracing our screens in Netflix’s Bling Empire, Christine Chiu stepped out in an ornate gown styled by TKTK. The gown features a hand-painted cream colored bodice with feather detailing on the bird image and cherry blossom branches that extend out. To highlight the branches, her hair is styled into a classy updo by TKTK. Around the waist is a satin sand fabric that creates a striking high-slit and train.
Thủy

R&B pop songstress, Thủy, paid homage to her Vietnamese roots in a reimagined áo dài. The áo dài styled by TKTK fuses textures and materials like sequins, sheer fabric, and ruffles. The ruffle detailing around the sleeve is dramatically layered in shades of blush and off-white, extending into a long train. The áo dài’s base rose gold color compliments Thủy’s coral hair, styled by TKTK into a sleek updo.
Naomi Watanabe

Lovable Japanese comedian Naomi Watanabe flaunted her unique style with a simple long black dress accompanied by cute and colorful accessories. She rocked a long set of Pokémon inspired nails by nail artist TKTK alongside an eye-catching chunky silver necklace with pink and purple stones.
