Not a Fashion Week goes by without the Queen of the Front Rows, Jisoo, making headlines for her fashion and beauty statements. The kick-off of Fall Winter 2024 Couture Fashion Week in Paris was no different. Jisoo returned to the Dior VIP section with a Medievalcore look that channeled one of the biggest runway trends of the year.

Embracing Medievalcore

In 2024, everyone in fashion, from the ace of period fashion (Simone Rocha) to Dior, has tapped into the aesthetic of medieval eras. Whether presenting collections in medieval buildings or creating fashion inspired by specific codes — namely armors à la Joan of Arc, doublets and high necklines — fashion has referenced Medieval style with a modern and fashionable flair.

The latest star joining the trend is Jisoo, who slipped into a matching set reminiscent of medieval silhouettes for her attendance at the Dior Haute Couture Fall Winter 2024 show. Jisoo sported a doublet-style jacket with a subtle sheer effect cinched at the waist with a black belt. The jacket, which also featured puff sleeves, a high neck and rich embroideries, was paired with a bubble miniskirt.

The look was previously introduced on the Dior Cruise 2025 runway, a presentation that drew inspiration from the figure of Mary, Queen of Scots, and was showcased in the gardens of Drummond Castle, a late medieval period construction.

Contrasting Accessories and Minimal Makeup

Instead of the pointy shoes favored in medieval times, Jisoo modernized her look with a pair of knee-high boots and added a Dior staple: the Lady Dior bag.

Departing from the elaborate hairdos she’s worn in previous couture seasons, Jisoo donned soft waves in a half-up, half-down hairstyle. The “Flower” singer also traded her signature black manicure for a chic gray nail polish and kept her makeup minimal, only accentuating her eyes with eyeliner and mascara and going for a rosy lip.

Forever Under the Limelight

ICYMI, Jisoo is one of Dior’s most prominent brand ambassadors and strongest front-row presences. Often amplifying the show’s Media Impact Value (MIV) and fueling engagement, Jisoo has a privileged front-row spot at every Dior presentation. During the Fall Winter 2024 Paris Fashion Week, for example, Jisoo prompted media attention valued at $6.4 million in MIV — as reported by Launchmetrics. In 2023, Jisoo was also one of the Top 10 celebrities dominating Media Impact Value rankings across fashion and sportswear segments.
