For months, the world has eagerly anticipated the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. To celebrate the sports event, French conglomerate LVMH held a high-profile event on July 25. Co-hosted by Charlize Theron, Serena Williams, Rosalía, and Omar Sy, the night was filled with star power, entertainment and, of course, games and sports.
Welcoming the Olympics
French conglomerate LVMH has reportedly spent $163 million participating in different aspects of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games organization and sponsorship. As one of the Olympics’ premium partners, the luxury giant kicked off the multi-sport event with an equally grand party titled “Prelude to the 2024 Olympics.” Held at Fondation Louis Vuitton, the night was a meeting of famed names, including Louis Vuitton Men’s artistic director Pharrell Williams, sportspeople Serena Williams, Eileen Gu, Naomi Osaka and LeBron James.
Pharrell Williams served as curator of the party, which involved several games and activities such as foosball, claw machines and archery targets — all branded with imagery and logos of different LVMH houses.
Global stars such as American actress Zendaya, Spanish singer Rosalia, former model Natalia Vodianova and actor Jeremy Allen White were present at the high-profile event. Before wrapping up the night, South African singer Tyla delighted attendees with a surprise performance.

Zendaya
Following the black dress trend from the 2024 Oscars, American actress Zendaya slipped into a custom-made black tulle dress. The star owned the trend with a slightly retro, bodycon dress that also featured thin spaghetti straps — a Y2K staple. As for accessories, Z opted for a Valise bag with elements reminiscent of the classic Louis Vuitton truck. The outfit made for a perfect effortless yet glamorous fashion moment.

Serena Williams
Suit vests have taken over the fashion industry this year and American sports star Serena Williams just joined in on the fun. The four-time Olympic gold medalist served as the co-chair of the Prelude event in Paris. Her outfit and glam danced the fine line between masculine and feminine themes. Williams sported a custom three-piece black double-breasted suit with pearl buttons inspired by the Spring Summer 2024 Men’s Collection. Williams’ flowing mermaid waves and candlelit complexion balanced out the sharp suit and pumps.
LeBron James
The fashion scene can’t get enough of denim jackets. Want to play around with this fashion trend? Come closer and take inspiration from American basketball player LeBron James’ outfit. The sportsman donned a distorted Damier denim jacket in a washed black denim print that pivoted from traditional blue denim textiles. Casual and hip, the sports legend proved he can be an ace on and off the court.
Naomi Osaka
Eileen Gu
Chinese-American freestyle skater Eileen Gu refined the L.B.D. (little black dress) for the night out in Paris. She donned a black cropped double-breasted jacket with gold hammer buttons and a matching skirt. The set helped define Gu’s petite frame and didn’t let her get lost in the boxy silhouette. Strappy silver stiletto heels and a pink Coussin bag added a touch of bling to her military-inspired Louis Vuitton ensemble.
Jeremy Allen White
Rosalía
Prelude party co-host and Dior ambassador Rosalía embraced the sheer dress trend with an embroidered gold knit dress and underwear set from Dior’s Cruise 2025 collection. The Spanish sensation paired the look with effortless mermaid waves. So chic!
Charlize Theron
Tyla
“Water” singer Tyla made a case for Y2K style with a black velvet Damier tracksuit. The night’s performer matched the retro look with a black bra adorned with gold accents and accessorized with black gold-toe leather pumps, a statement choker and a Y2K staple, the chain belt.
Olympic Fever
The “Prelude to the 2024 Olympics” party offered just a taste of glamour and style ahead of the big Olympic Games opening ceremony. It also served as an opportunity for LVMH to showcase its extensive network of brand ambassadors and friends.
LVMH’s partnership with the Paris Olympics has so far included the design of gold, silver and bronze medals for the event by Maison Chaumet; the creation of Team France uniforms for the opening ceremony, courtesy of Berluti and the crafting of the medals and torches trunks by Louis Vuitton. Additionally, some of the most prominent LVMH houses, including Dior, Tag Heuer and Sephora have participated in supporting athletes and events leading up to the Olympics.
