Billkin & PP Krit – “ยอม (Surrender)”
In the push and pull of a relationship, there’s always someone who stands their ground and always someone who gives in. That’s exactly what Thai superstar Billkin and PP Krit’s new duet is about. The song mimics their real-life relationship as best friends and business partners. The lyrics detail the love they have for one another and that in this universe and in the next they’ll always surrender for the other. “If you’re really good, you’ll surrender to me first / arguing every day doesn’t mean I love you any less.” When chatting about the song in a live stream Billkin said “This song is about how both of us feel when we’re together, this is about Billkin and PP together.”
The duo just announced their first movie together, entitled Project Red, due in 2025. This will be their first acting project together since 2020 & 2021’s mega-hit series I Told Sunset About You and I Promise You The Moon. The pair will also hold their first joint concert Double Trouble in August.

Anson Lo – “Hey Hey Ok”
Hong Kong multi-hyphenate Anson Lo released his new single “Hey Hey Ok” three months after his latest track, “The Homebodies.” Embracing the essence of summer, “Hey Hey Ok” is the ultimate feel-good anthem, blending upbeat pop melodies with infectious hooks. The song’s lively rhythm and uplifting lyrics make it impossible not to get up and dance or dive into summer activities. Adding to the track’s dynamic appeal, an all-English rap breakdown in the middle gives it a refreshing twist. With its sun-soaked vibe, “Hey Hey Ok” is poised to become a staple of summer playlists.
Stray Kids – “Chk Chk Boom”

Stray Kids are back! With the release of their new mini album, ATE comes the title track “Chk Chk Boom.” And they’re right, they ate that. In the typical Stray Kids style that we’ve come to expect from the group, the song has dynamic production, smooth vocal and rap execution, and in-your-face lyrics about defying the odds and reaching your goals. “Just pull out my trigger, I got that / I’ma pop, pop, pop, take a shot, yeah / Shoot down my goals one by one, I snipe them.” The music video is also a highlight and comes with a little help from their friends, Marvel characters Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman).
Stray Kids have had a successful 2024 so far: they’ve recently performed at BST Hyde Park festival as the first headlining K-pop boy group. They have also made major waves in luxury fashion, attending the Met Gala with Tommy Hilfiger and member Felix walking the Louis Vuitton runway during Paris Fashion Week. Next up they’ll be headlining at Lollapalooza in August, where US fans can see them perform “Chk Chk Boom” live.
JADE – “Angel Of My Dreams”
As a member of best-selling UK girl group Little Mix, Jade Thirwall has conquered the international music industry with number-one singles and top-selling albums. Now, she has taken on a whole new challenge as a solo artist trying to make it in her own right, following the footsteps of her members Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Perrie Edwards. “Angel Of My Dreams” marks the first single from her upcoming debut album and details her journey to stardom under a previous label and boss. “Love when you call me a star/ you let me down in the dark / want you and need you / you don’t care / it’s not fair.” The song is reminiscent of early 2000s’ UK club-pop but also favors music you’d hear today from someone like Charli XCX or Chapell Roan, all the while being quintessentially JADE. Calling back to the title of the song, Thirwall showcases her angelic vocals during the chorus, slowing the song down in tone but not tempo, keeping the same energetic rhythm throughout the song. “Angel Of My Dreams” has the potential to be a legendary club song for years to come.
Wolftyla – “updown”
@wolftyla starpop releases tonight omg ☆
♬ updown – Wolftyla
Wolftyla just released the ultimate hyper-pop EP of the summer with STARPOP. A standout on the album is the “updown,” the penultimate track. Clocking in at just under three minutes, “updown” is the best pick-me-up for a midday slump with its energetic production and vibrant vocals. Aptly titled, the song describes the ups and downs experienced in a committed relationship. “You’re the only one / even when it’s ugly, love me / highs and lows,” she sings in the pre-chorus. The catchy and quotable lyrics are perfect to sing along during a girl’s day or as the soundtrack for a nice summer drive.
Denny & Mandy Gill – “Naqaab”
Denny and Mandy Gill are back with their third single, “Naqaab,” after previous collaborations “ATTENTION” and “Lagda E Nai.” The producer/artist duo, known for their innovative approach to blending genres, continue to push boundaries with this latest release. “Naqaab” combines a romantic theme with a drill beat, creating a unique contrast that prominently features in modern Punjabi music. The track describes the beauty of a woman wearing a naqaab, using the drill genre to almost shy away from the romantic nature of the words. As Punjabi music gains increasing recognition on the international stage, Denny and Mandy Gill are sure to keep the collaborations coming.

NCT 127 – “Walk”
K-pop group NCT 127 is back with their sixth studio album, WALK, and the title track offers a more laid-back direction for the group. Embracing early 2000s hip-hop (think 50 Cent and Ja Rule) “Walk” features boom bap-style drums and retro guitar riffs, infusing a nostalgic feel into their vibrant K-pop sound. The song’s lyrics, with lines like “Don’t care ’bout a thing, I just walk how I feel like,” reflect NCT 127’s trademark confidence and independent spirit, emphasizing their commitment to creating their own musical path. The track showcases a diverse range of voices as almost every member leads a section of the chorus, giving it a new feel each time and keeping it fresh.
Thuy featuring Chungha – “Hair Down (remix)”
The collab everyone has been waiting on has finally arrived! Solo artists Thuy and Chungha have teamed up for the “Hair Down” remix, released on July 19. Building on Thuy’s original track from earlier this year, the remix infuses Chungha’s vibrant energy and seamlessly blends her voice with Thuy’s. The song captures the essence of summer with its theme of letting go of worries and living in the moment, reflected in lyrics like, “Had to let my hair down /feel it in my body, all the way down / singing out the windows all around town.” Chungha adds a fresh twist by mixing a bit of Korean into her verse. The remix provides a new perspective on the original track, enhancing its summer appeal and showcasing both artists’ talents.

Joey Yung – “One Last Time”
After spending the last few months in Mainland China, Hong Kong diva Joey Yung returns to the HK-pop scene with her latest homecoming project. “One Last Time” is Joey’s first non-ballad lead single in five years, a successor to her 2019 hit, “Pretty Crazy.” This new record is the opposite of her melodramatic tearjerker, “九秒九 (9.9s),” from earlier this spring. “One Last Time” was released on July 18, accompanied by a stunning music video. “One Last Time” is an upbeat feel-good song that draws beats from the early ‘90s disco scene, a sound that takes fans of Joey (JY Angels) back to her debut era in 1999. Marrying her seductive vocal tone with spicy lyrics, Joey casts an alluring, sonic fantasy: “我對你霸佔一晚 你對我霸佔一世 通通不阻你發揮 which translates to “I conquer you for a night / you conquer me for life /and I’ll let you.” It’s no doubt that “One Last Time” is on its way to becoming Joey’s newest must-perform song in future concerts, joining disco-infused early 00s tracks like “隆重登場 (Grand Entrance)” and “喜喜 (Happy Happy).”
Other tracks in this week’s Sunday Spin playlist include BTS member Jimin’s “Who,” “All Day” by ONEW, J-Pop powerhouse ATARASHII GAKKO!’s “Change,” pH1 and Lee YoungJi’s collaboration “FLAT COKE,” and much more. Listen to everything mentioned and more, curated by Team EnVi only for you on Spotify.
