Indian-American vocalist Rhea Raj sported one of the breakout fashion trends of 2024 — hoods — to the third annual Gold Gala. On May 11, the star dazzled fans at Gold House’s celebration of Asian-Pacific excellence. Held at the Music Center in Los Angeles, the event honors 100 impactful figures from the Asian community across fields.
An All-Kill Look
Ahead of the release of her debut album HUNTER, Rhea Raj channeled her inner huntress at the 2024 Gold Gala. The singer sported an aubergine hooded top and skirt set from the LA-based brand Andre Emery, nodding to one of the biggest red carpet trends of the year. (ICYMI, hooded dresses have become a trusted red carpet staple for the likes of Zendaya, Florence Pugh and even Anne Hathaway.)
Daring and statement-worthy, Rhea’s top featured a deep-V neckline and was paired with a high-slit skirt. The set featured flecks of metallic thread woven into the knit, as well as crystal-encrusted back straps that bestowed the look with a modern red carpet appeal.
To top off the chic ensemble, silver jewelry adorned Rhea’s decolletage and hands. As a final touch, the artist slipped on a pair of edgy silver boots from her own closet.

This is not Rhea’s first appearance at the Gold Gala. Last year, the singer made a case for Barbiecore pink, dressed in a two-piece set by Chinese-American designer Kim Shui. The look, however, not only nodded to the popular Mattel doll. It also gave off major Sailor Moon energy — Rhea sported a pair of embellished Azalea Wang boots and pony-tailed hair buns reminiscent of the beloved Japanese animation.
The Gold Gala isn’t the only time she has enjoyed a hooded fashion moment either. The “Venom” singer knows how to sport hooded fashion flawlessly and she proved it beyond any doubt at the 2024 Coachella Music Festival, where she rocked a holographic hooded top.
