The Show

Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, Anthony Vaccarello, Saint Laurent’s Creative Director, presented his past collections through spectacular films. This season, however, the fashion cycle seems to have fully returned to present events. For his official comeback to Parisian runways, Vaccarello chose to honor Yves Saint Laurent’s muse, Paloma Picasso. Known for her pivotal role on YSL’s “Scandal” collection, the daughter of Pablo Picasso was a recognized IT-Girl back in her days. The Creative Director paid homage to her influence through a collection where skin-tight jumpsuits, broad-shouldered jackets, and pops of color predominated.

“We always talk about Betty Catroux and Catherine Deneuve–those amazing icons–but Paloma was the only one who really changed Yves Saint Laurent’s perception of fashion,” Vaccarello said when explaining his inspiration for the collection. “When he met her, with her huge red lips, dressed in vintage, she was really new for him. It changed his own style. In my mind, I want to have the same change after the pandemic.”

Rosé and Saint Laurent’s Love Affair

To honor such an important figure in the shaping of Saint Laurent’s style, an exclusive list of VIPs graced the front row of the show. Among them, Saint Laurent’s current darling, BLACKPINK’s Rosé, surely stole the spotlight.

Dressed in a chic mini black dress, high knee boots, and her signature ponytail, Rosé became the main attraction of the night. The idol, who is known for her close friendship with Anthony Vaccarello, opted for a gold choker and dark makeup to add a splash of rocker chic to her style. As one might expect, the breathtaking result caused a frenzy upon her arrival at the show’s venue. Photographed by magazines, editors, and fans, the celebrity joined industry insiders and celebrities to watch Vaccarello’s latest collection.
