Home to the biggest fashion event in Northern Europe, Copenhagen welcomes the womenswear Fall Winter 2024 season with a bang. Taking place between January 29 and February 2, Copenhagen Fashion Week (CPHFW) stands out for its dedication to sustainability and environmentally friendly policies on the runways.

On the streets, the event has shaped a reputation as a sartorially-savvy space where Scandinavian style, contemporary luxury and spontaneity merge. This season has been no different. Below, EnVi gathers all the must-see street style moments of CPHFW.

What’s In Right Now

The chilly winter months are calling for fur coats and bold pops of color in the streets of Copenhagen. With the mob wife aesthetic making waves online, fur textures, leather, and outerwear trench coats have become wardrobe staples on every corner. While most attendants opted for neutral and earthy tones, the most daring rocked vibrant red, yellow, aqua blue, pink and animal print accents.

Another essential style hack for Scandinavian fashionistas was layering jackets with turtlenecks and collared shirts. To amplify the look, show attendants relied on the power of accessorizing. Many opted for skinny belts and the it accessory of the season, the tie. Reviving the classic Y2K dress-over-pants look from the early 2000s, the long flowy dress layered over flared pants or leggings was yet another fashion favorite. Showgoers also embraced modest fashion, styling their looks with hijabs and keffiyeh scarves worn on the head or around the neck.

For All Tastes

Accessory-wise, large handbags, fur hats and sunglasses added a touch of Scandi girl cool to all sorts of contemporary looks. Chunky knits, metallic colors (silver and gold) and geometric shapes were mainstays for bags and accessories.

Meanwhile, on the footwear front, Salomon sneakers were repeatedly spotted on the streets, paired with wide-leg jeans or cargo pants — because no one rocks divisive shoe designs quite as effortlessly as the Nordic. Attuned to the season, leather boots were another sought-after stylistic choice. The weather also called for headwear of all types, from fuzzy bucket hats and balaclavas to the sailor hats that brands such as Prada and Jean Paul Gaultier revived during Men’s and Haute Couture Fashion Week.

Along with the fashion statements, beauty remained for the most part understated and classy. As innate minimalists, Scandi girls made a case for the slicked-back bun and no-make-up looks. Natural hair freely falling down the shoulders was the ultimate beauty staple outside the shows. However, as a barometer of trends, the streets of Copenhagen also offered a glimpse of hairstyles that, according to experts, will define 2024 — think of blunt bobs and the copper and red hair dyes
