This week’s Sunday Spin will have you prepared to enter April with a new heavy rotation. Whether you’re reminiscing about the cold weather or ready to step out into the sun, Sunday Spin has you covered!
BEOMGYU – “Panic”
After YEONJUN’s viral mixtape debut, BEOMGYU is the next TOMORROW X TOGETHER member to follow suit with his self-written solo mixtape “Panic.” BEOMGYU gives listeners a glimpse into his vulnerable side, as this introspective track reflects his own personal journey as an artist. “Panic” features a classic band sound, perfectly in tune with BEOMGYU’s love of playing guitar.
Above this vibrant rock melody are emotional lyrics inspired by the empowerment BEOMGYU found through music. BEOMGYU reassures listeners that no matter how difficult life may seem, “This cold winter too / Shall pass.” The accompanying music video shares this sentiment, as BEOMGYU initially grapples with his struggles alone, but then finds freedom through music. He tosses and turns in solitude, with the suffocating world being represented through a surrounding flood and a wall closing in on him. Once BEOMGYU picks up his guitar, he also aptly picks himself up and runs freely.
BEOMGYU wants “Panic” to invigorate a sense of hope and resilience for listeners. “I have encountered moments that seemed insurmountable, and during those times, music became my refuge,” he shared in a press release. “I hope listening to this song will gradually open their hearts, even just a fraction. It is my aspiration for this track to serve as a source of strength and comfort for many listeners.”
Jackson Wang – “GBAD”
Jackson Wang keeps it blunt in his latest release, “GBAD.” After “High Alone,” this new release is the next track to be featured on his upcoming album, MAGIC MAN 2 — a sequel to his debut solo album, MAGIC MAN. “GBAD” is a laid-back alternative hip-hop track that flaunts Wang’s rap flow in addition to his charming, raspy vocals. He tells it as it is on the catchy hook: “Life is great / Just gotta be a dick sometimes / You only live once / Just gotta be a dick sometimes.” The song is produced by Wang himself, in collaboration with the renowned DEM JOINTZ. DEM JOINTZ also makes a humorous appearance in the music video as the sun that greets Wang with his iconic producer tag, “Incoming!” The music video features Wang saving a series of pedestrians in the face of danger and stopping crime by comically hip thrusting. No spoilers here, but by the end of the video, Wang uncovers that “Sometimes… We gotta be a dick. Not to harm, but to set boundaries and protect our own will.”
rhyu – “Precious”

Singapore’s newest indie R&B songstress, rhyu, is ready to kickstart a new chapter of her career with her debut EP, It’s Pouring. Across its five tracks, this EP captures her artistic growth two years into her career, paired with her life perspectives as she enters her twenties. The focus track, “Precious,” captures the longing to be seen as “precious” by that special someone. Rhyu yearns for her feelings to be reciprocated as she sings in the chorus, “If I receive, I’m returning / With ten times the heart / It’s all yours now / I’ll be waiting.” Her emotive vocals float above a bright R&B track with a punchy beat, creating a fantasy-like soundscape. When combined with the vivid imagery in the lyrics, “Precious” becomes an emotional listening experience for the hopeless romantics. Rhyu seeks to bring her “memories and emotions” to life, all whilst touching the hearts of listeners — and “Precious” perfectly captures her artist’s statement.
WEST – “WEST SIDE SOUL”
Japanese septet WEST show no signs of slowing down in their 24th single, “WEST SIDE SOUL!” Hailing from STARTO ENTERTAINMENT, WEST is composed of the members Daiki Shigeoka, Akito Kiriyama, Junta Nakama, Tomohiro Kamiyama, Ryusei Fujii, Takahiro Hamada, and Nozomu Kotaki. WEST is now in their eleventh active year as a team, and their teamwork shines more than ever. WEST’s fun personalities and endless charms are on full display in “WEST SIDE SOUL!” The feel-good track is funky with a groovy bassline, paired with an infectious melody that makes you want to sing along.
The music video is full of goofy antics that WEST are unafraid to tackle. The video depicts Daiki Shigeoka getting zapped by lightning and his spirit toys around the members. WEST attempts multiple tactics to awaken him again, but a firefighter saves him by calling upon an epic “thunder strike.” WEST celebrates his resurrection in typical fashion — bursting into song and dance! Beyond their talent as musicians, WEST’s whimsical humor makes them a full package as all-around entertainers.
TEN – “STUNNER”

TEN knows exactly who he is in his highly-anticipated second solo EP, STUNNER. The EP’s title track and namesake, “STUNNER,” is a masterful blend of R&B and pop produced by Swedish pop producers Jacob Werner and Elias Edman, who have collaborated with artists like Zara Larsson and Armin van Buuren. TEN proves his abilities as a soloist with various vocal deliveries — from playing around with the melody and hitting falsettos in the pre-chorus to a tight rap flow in the second verse that feels like a guest feature. TEN isn’t TEN without a performance, and “STUNNER” is complete with powerful choreography that delves into diverse textures. The music video highlights his choreography alongside an array of striking looks from TEN, capturing the song’s versatility and endless possibilities. As a proclaimed ace, TEN showcases his versatility across the seven tracks in his EP. Not only does he transcend genres, he delivers songs in both Korean and English. Only in his second year since his formal solo debut, TEN proves that his artistry is irreplaceable.
aespa – “Whiplash (Steve Aoki Remix)”
Aespa seized 2024 with their infectious hits and irresistible choreography, and now the star-studded quartet are ready to take on 2025. Aespa’s 2024 house hit, “Whiplash,” has been upgraded to the next level thanks to Grammy-nominated DJ and producer Steve Aoki. “Whiplash” captured hearts across the globe, amassing over 150 million views on YouTube and entering the Billboard World Albums and Global 200 Charts. To commemorate its success and build on the momentum, aespa released an English version of the track for even more listeners to enjoy. The English lyrics still uphold the confident sentiment portrayed in the original Korean lyrics, with bold lyricism like “Fancy, this is opulence / It’s glowing and it’s flashy / Never one to do too much / I keep it classy.”
If this English version still wasn’t enough, aespa teamed up with Steve Aoki to amplify this new rendition. “We’re so excited to share these new versions of ‘Whiplash’ with our global Mys and to have Steve Aoki remix the song,” shared aespa in a press release. “The new English version and remix have a different charm from the original and, since it’s a song we can now sing with even more global Mys, we’re excited for the day we get to perform it on stage.”
Steve Aoki’s remix proves his prowess as a renowned DJ. While still maintaining the pulsating bass and house elements from the original, he elevates it by playing around with the tempo and vocal chops. To create a dynamic bass drop for the chorus, he gradually builds up the tension with accelerating synths and a vocal crescendo. The second chorus undergoes a dynamic transformation with a symphony of musical elements not present in the original. With this electrifying new remix to an already beloved track, aespa confidently continue to expand their musical horizons.
EVAN – “Star Below (feat pH-1)”
EVAN, formerly known as PLUMA, has set the stage for a new era in his career with a fresh identity. After recently signing under GroovyRoom’s label, AT AREA, EVAN has released his new single “Star Below,” reshaping his sound by blending together genres like electro pop, alternative pop, and rock. This song hits all the nostalgic feels and is a perfect tune for a late night drive. The lyrics paint a warm picture of admiration and a budding romance as EVAN sings, “Brighter than this spotlight, it’s you / It’s your time to shine / with me, I feel like you should be mine.” pH-1 jumps on the track seamlessly blending his rap with the melody. His lines add more depth into the feeling of falling in love: “You invade my mind / The lights are on me but / You’re the one that’s shining like / The sun in the sky and the moon in the night time.”
EVAN already made an impression under his previous pen name, with his distinctive melodic rap and lyrics. His new chapter with AT AREA is giving him a platform to show a different side to his artistry. His song “Star Below” is just the beginning!
Keoni Usi – “stevie wonder”
Keoni Usi is a rising independent artist who has made a name for himself in only seven months. Keoni Usi released his album 7 MIN. on March 18, which features his track “stevie wonder” — another chill hit to add to your night time drive playlist! In 7 MIN., Usi showcases his range with introspective storytelling and resonant soundscapes. “I wanted to capture the events and emotions I thought would replay if I had only 7 minutes of life left,” Usi wrote in an Instagram post. “stevie wonder” blends R&B and indie elements. His voice blends into the music and feels distant like a fading daydream. The rest of the album takes a dive into deeper themes of love, self-reflection, and personal growth.
Whyte (?te) And TENDRE – “Let Me Be Me”

“Sometimes we fight / You always think that you are right,” Taiwanese artist Whyte (?te) sings with her signature smoky vocals. Released on March 28, “Let Me Be Me” is Whyte’s recent collaboration with Japanese artist TENDRE. In the simple but poignant track, a child sings a letter to their parents. The child notices a lot more than the parent might realize — “You care about people around you / But often forget to eat.” However, the child also knows they want to live their life the way they want to.
In the music video description, Whyte wrote “畢業快樂!,” meaning “Happy graduation!” in Mandarin Chinese. As the rising jazz pop singer told EnVi in a recent interview, “Let Me Be Me” is for the high schoolers in Taiwan (and beyond) who are finished with exams and prepping for upcoming college interviews. These interviews could quite literally determine the students’ path for the next few years, so fights about the future are bound to ensue between parents and their children. As Whyte explained further, the track essentially says, “I don’t understand your love but it’s a little bit too controlling for me, and I hope you can understand my feelings.”
“If I let you be you / Would you let me be me?” Whyte asks in the chorus, a gentle jazzy swing backing up her vocals. TENDRE adds another layer with his Japanese lyrics, which begins with a direct “I love you.” “What I intended to say was simple / But somehow, I held back again today,” he continues. These relationships have their push-and-pull, yet love always forms their foundations.
Isaiah Falls & Odeal – “Searching”

If you were searching for an R&B it boy, look no further than Isaiah Falls. This Friday, he delivered “Searching” in collaboration with LVRN’s Odeal. The single oozes sweet and sensual vocals, filled to the brim with dreamy production. Isaiah Falls’ smooth harmonies dance across the track, leaving listeners with a desire for more. Unattainable love and longing are a tale as old as time, but no one makes it as raw as Isaiah Falls does. Featuring lyrics like “Baby, you got me searching / Looking for love in places / It just don’t exist baby,” “Searching” is just one of those songs that you can blast at 2AM. Odeal brings a fresh energy to the track, flexing just how good his love can be.
For the unfamiliar, he’s coming hot off the release of his own 2024 project Lustropolis. R&B is in an exciting place with a number of up-and-coming talents. With spring upon us, “Searching” ushers in Isaiah season. And what’s better than an announcement of new music with his upcoming record, LVRS Paradise?
RE:WIND – “FOREVER”

Turn up the volume for RE:WIND as they drop their debut single “FOREVER.” The group consists of three Asian American members — Eddie, Elaya, and Lei — who are former K-pop trainees now ready to make a new mark. RE:WIND are here to show the world their unshakeable passions and dreams will remain strong, no matter the setbacks. “FOREVER” and their pre-debut track “RE:SET” mirror the group’s message. Both songs evoke a fresh wave of nostalgia with their ’90s pop inspired beat along with the group’s visual concept.
Their newly released music video portrays them having a photoshoot and getting into the “popstar” role. Other scenes of them getting ready to perform and dancing in the rain give fans a first look at their charms. “FOREVER” marks RE:WIND’s strong entrance into the K-pop world.
oceanfromtheblue – “WYTD” (feat. JOONIE)
In his first new release of 2025, Korean R&B singer oceanfromtheblue is back with new single, “WYTD,” an acronym for “what you tryna do?” While a new release from him alone is worth celebrating, oceanfromtheblue is known to have an impressive network of talented colleagues in the industry to collaborate with on various projects. This time, the singer has enlisted JOONIE of the girl group ICHILLIN’ to add her own flair to this laid-back R&B groove. Together, the two create that perfect balance between the oceanfromtheblue’s huskier tone and JOONIE’s lighter, airier presence.
“What you tryna do, baby? Ain’t nobody do it like me,” oceanfromtheblue boasts in the track’s opening line, which also serves as its main hook. The production is as wispy as it is memorable, allowing the listener to instantly settle into its hazy rhythm while never straying from the comfort of knowing what to expect. Even with only 2.5 minutes of runtime, it becomes clear that “WYTD” is a conversation between two lovers — oceanfromtheblue plays the confident lover, knowing he’s one of a kind and a total catch, while in the second verse, JOONIE responds directly to him and echoes his sentiment: “There’s no one like you, I can’t replace you,” she sings with an effortless falsetto. Although this particular pairing was not on our bingo cards for 2025, it’s a pleasant and much appreciated surprise.
