RAYE featuring Amma & Absolutely – โJoy.โ

RAYEโs newest album, THIS MUSIC MAY CONTAIN HOPE. shows her emotional vulnerability while wrestling with lifeโs challenges. From holding onto internal pain in โI Know Youโre Hurting.โ to body image issues in โI Hate The Way I Look Today.,โ RAYE encourages listeners to share their burdens. Following previous emotionally-heavy tracks, โJoy.โ turns introspective and shifts the tone of the album. Though time has been given to mourn and hurt, RAYE shows she is ready to foster good to come from the future.
The song starts as a house track, then introduces a piano and strings as the first verse progresses. RAYE reflects on herself in the lyrics with an initially solemn mood, โThe sadness has a grip on me, and it must disappear.โ Black Southern gospel influences on the track are also heard in the composition, instrumentation, and in the call-and-response woven throughout verses. Incorporating tambourine and trumpets instantly livens up the song, as RAYE decides to shake off the pain. โI may cry through the night / But my joy comes in the morning,โ RAYE sings, with a renewed sense of hope.
Accompanied by her sisters, Amma and Absolutely, the three boldly declare on the final verse, โI declare I am somebody (I say) / Say, I declare there will be joy (I will).โ As she embarks on her THIS TOUR MAY CONTAIN NEW MUSIC Tour, RAYE hopes listeners can also find their own place for โJoy.โ
ZAYN – โSidewaysโ
As a new preview for his upcoming album, Konnakol, ZAYN exhibits his signature yearning in โSideways.โ ZAYN is seen lying in bed throughout the majority of the music video, and almost always staring into the camera. He reaches for a lover who is gone in the empty spaces around the house meant to be shared: the bed, a loveseat, even a piano bench. Shots with stormy skies and rain cut through images of ZAYN wandering a house alone, showing the unrest settled in his heart.
โSidewaysโ has a minimal beat that allows ZAYNโs rich vocals to express his heartbreak. Drum loops, muffled strings, and synthesizer are all pitched low to add to the somber mood. His vulnerability is backed by the chorus, โSideways, late at night with your love lying next to mine / I miss lookinโ at you sideways.โ While he describes physical intimacy, the emotional aspect and experience of being with his lover is what ZAYN truly misses. If youโre looking for more moody tracks from ZAYN, keep an eye out for KONNAKOL releasing April 17.
SB19 x JOLIN – โEmojiโ

P-pop powerhouses SB19 prove that there is no limit to their artistry with the dynamic โEmoji.โ The track is a collaboration with C-pop queen, JOLIN, and one of the 24 tracks on their new album, Wakas at Simula. โEmojiโ is a powerful dance track characterized by razor-sharp lyrics and phonk influences. The song represents how emojis can be used as a way to hide or minimize onesโ true feelings. Pabloโs pre-chorus dives into this sentiment: โMask on or mask off / No telling whatโs true / Ainโt that what we all do / But hey, Iโm talking to you!โ The accompanying music video features digital and mask motifs to convey the message of โEmoji.โ
SB19 and JOLINโs years of experience echo through their shared performance both audibly and in the music video. Their vocal deliveries ensure that each word is sure to strike a chord with listeners, and the effortless group choreography scenes prove that this collaboration is one to not be missed. This collaboration with the great JOLIN is one of two high-profile collaborations on this new album, the other being with major Japanese boy group, BE:FIRST, on the song โToyfriend.โ
โThese collaborations helped us see how we can refine and evolve our approach on a global stage,โ shared SB19 member Stell in a press release. All members added, โThis album honors that journey while also guiding us into a more grounded and intentional version of SB19.โ
It is no surprise that SB19 is expanding their horizons with global collaborations as they were just announced as performers for the historic Chicago music festival, Lollapalooza. In addition to this milestone, SB19 recently joined the global fan community platform Weverse, which hosts some of the biggest acts across music.
Conan Gray – โThe Bestโ
Conan Gray returns with emotive lead single โThe Bestโ from his upcoming Wishbone (Deluxe) album. The Japanese Irish singer is known for his heartbreaking and relatable anthems like โHeatherโ and โFamily Line.โ This latest single tackles the difficult process of trying to heal from a breakup well enough to wish oneโs ex all the best. โI know itโs so low to hate you for leaving without me,โ Gray mourns in the prechorus, โBut why leave so quickly? Do you miss me?โ
He sings over the growing acoustic guitar and echoed drums in a clear voice. Quiet verses bloom into an anthemic chorus, โMaybe itโs all in my mind / But swear if I saw you tonight,โ Gray confesses, โWe could make peace with it / Not have to sleep with it / Haunting me all of the time.โ The singer reminisces on both happy and sad memories from the relationship, grieving the passage of time. The process takes him through what he needs to move on, reflected in the final line of the track, โFinally wish you the best.โ
Gray is in the midst of the North American leg of his Wishbone World Tour. โThe Bestโ comes as a teaser for the deluxe version of his 2025 album. โThese songs are not โsongs that didnโt make the album,โโ Gray stated in an Instagram post. โTheyโre all new songs written after Wishbone, feelings I could only reach in the aftermath of the albumโs release.โ
Centimillimental – โhighlightโ

Centimillimental, the solo project of the Japanese singer-songwriter Atsushi, releases a new digital single, โhighlight,โ after the penultimate concert of his Cafunรฉ World Tour. A bold and motivational track, โhighlightโ is the theme song for J SPORTS STADIUM 2026 baseball broadcasts.
The track utilizes bright piano and guitar to accompany Centimillimentalโs powerful vocals. The whispered prechorus quietly urges the listener to keep moving forward, โRise again with your bright hope / Break into a new sky.โ The music video reflects the exuberant nature of the track, showcasing a mother watching over and supporting her son on a baseball field. The track uplifts the listener, encouraging them to rise higher and chase their dreams.
Centimillimental may best be known for his work on the TV anime Given, having written the theme song โKizuatoโ as well as two more tracks for the subsequent anime films of the same series (โSuper Ultra I LOVE YOUโ and โYuigonโ).
TAEMIN – โLong Way Homeโ

TAEMIN steps into new territory with โLong Way Home,โ his first English-language release, trading his usual high energy tracks for something more restrained and intimate. Built on a sexy, sleek, R&B-tinged EDM beat, the production moves with a steady pulse and complements his signature vocal tone, bringing it to sit front and center.
Lyrically, the song leans into the feelings of emotional and physical distance and longing. It traces the feeling of trying to find your way back to someone, even when the path isnโt clear. TAEMIN keeps the track understated, letting the repetition and phrasing carry the weight rather than lyrically overexplaining the moment.
The release arrives right ahead of his upcoming debut Coachella performance, where heโs set to make history as the first Korean solo male artist on the lineup.
KANGMIN – โFree Fallingโ

VERIVERYโs youngest member, KANGMIN, is ushering in a bold new chapter with his first solo single album, Free Falling. According to a press release, the albumโs namesake and title track conveys โa turbulent relationship oscillating between love and pain in an ongoing cycle of pushing and pulling.โ Much like how free falling refers to the complexity of โbeing unable to fully orient oneself mid-air, trying to find a place to step, or hold onto, while still plummeting forwardโ โ the song combines ambient R&B with thrilling drum and bass. โFree Fallingโ results in a euphoric sound that captures the simultaneous rush and serenity of the action. He sings in the chorus: โWeโre free falling / Donโt you leave me alone / Why is it that it hurts when youโre by my side / But then we keep needing each other again / Just say you love me.โ
Free Falling is embedded with KANGMINโs personal experiences and stories that he hopes will resonate deeply with audiences. Seven years into his journey with VERIVERY, and recently wrapping up his participation in the intense survival program, BOYS II PLANET, this three-track project is a diary of his feelings moving into adulthood.
โI filled this album with stories that I wanted to share honestly with you all, so I hope you could think of who KANGMIN is while listening to this album,โ KANGMIN shared in a press release.
Bizzy Crook, Rick Ross, C Stunna – โRiskyโ

Florida rapper Bizzy Crook links up with acclaimed rapper Rick Ross and rising star C Stunna on his latest single from his upcoming album, Underdogs Win Eventually. โRiskyโ is a hard-hitting anthem on calling out fake people and having your own back in the industry. The instrumental, produced by DJ and producer ACRAZE, echoes the sounds that defined 2000s Florida rap. Bizzy Crook, Rick Ross, and C Stunna each rap on a different verse to give their take on the industry. The chorus delivers the standout message that you canโt trust just anyone. Whether itโs fake friends, lovers, or just competition, Bizzy Crook stands on his decisions.
Bizzy Crook started his year with two wins at the 2026 Grammy Awards for his writing on R&B singer Leon Thomasโ MUTT. Bizzy is a longtime artistic collaborator of Thomas, as well as other big names like Drake, Coco Jones, and Wale. With his upcoming album, Bizzy steps into the spotlight. HANA – โBAD GIRLโ

Japan-based global girl group HANA return with a new digital single, โBAD GIRL,โ a partnership track with Apple for their โGroup Selfie on iPhone 17 Proโ campaign. Members CHIKA, NAOKO, JISOO, YURI, MOMOKA, KOHARU, and MAHINA join together to sing on the pop-rock track. Bittersweet and upbeat, โBAD GIRLโ captures the complicated feeling of trying to be someone else in order to be loved. โWhatโs your favorite style of me?โ JISOO asks, conveying the desire to change oneself to match their loverโs taste. YURI follows in the chorus, begging, โPlease look at me / just one second.โ At its core, the track expresses the relatable need of being accepted and loved.
This release comes shortly after their self-titled debut album, HANA, released just last month. Their sound is influenced by alt-pop, indie-rock, and R&B genres, with personal and youthful lyrics that listeners across the world can relate to. HANA officially debuted in April of 2025 after participating in rapper CHANMINAโs joint audition show with Japanese management company BMSG, No No Girls. They have consistently charted on Billboard and YouTube since then, and will make their U.S. debut this year at the Zipangu Music Festival in Los Angeles on May 16th.
Elephant Kind – โMore Timeโ

Indonesian band Elephant Kind pleads for the world to give them โMore Time.โ From the first verse, they proclaim, โI don’t want to live forever / I just want more time.โ As the title track off their third album, it highlights Elephant Kindโs new musical direction as a band. While the lyrics emphasize the need for more time, the songโs sound is dynamic with every verse. โMore Time,โ fuses together the genres of rock, dance, and house, displaying the bandโs increased fluidity in expression.
The track blends synthesized beats, drums, keyboard, and thrumming bass to provide a haunting funk feel. Bam Mastroโs vocals are initially tuned to sound cold, then ring clear after the band’s interlude. In turn, the beat swings with more electronic elements and increases intensity over the lyrics sung. Bayu Adisapoetra hits the drums heavy as Kevin Septanto strums the bass faster. As the song progresses, the tone becomes more free, an audible shift of the bandโs desire becoming more relaxed. Despite living in a fast-paced society, Elephant Kind encourages listeners to take โMore Timeโ for themselves.
As part of their album promotions, Elephant Kind has launched a two-part series, Party of a LIVETIME. The first was a small listening party held in Jakarta on March 26, to be followed by a live showcase on May 7.

YoRI – โPulangโ

Idol-turned-soloist YoRI is back with her first single of the year, โPulang.โ Born from a conversation with her producer about merantau, or to leave oneโs hometown to live elsewhere, โPulangโ is an existential song at its core. The title itself means โto return homeโ in Indonesian, capturing the poignant moment between choosing to forge ahead in our lives or return to the place we know. YoRI tackles the deep questions through an emotional pop-rock lens. The wistful guitar melody and backing drums accompany YoRIโs clear, high voice on the track, giving it the feel of an indie coming-of-age film.
The lyric video cements the nostalgic feeling of looking back on oneโs hometown. It features fan-submitted images of the doors to their homes alongside a quote about what home means to them. โHome is the beginning of all dreams and the end of all journeys,โ one listener said. Another took a more literal route, sharing, โA house is a constructed building built to serve as a place of residence or habitation.โ The video is a celebration of what home means, no matter where listeners are in the world.
YoRI began her career early in life as an actress before joining Indonesian girl group JKT48 in 2018. She launched her solo career in 2021 and released her first full album in 2025, titled 21 grams. โPulangโ is the second single to be released from YoRIโs upcoming album, giving listeners a teaser of whatโs to come!
