Rising to the Occasion

Prior to the show’s events, rising Bridgerton (2020) star Yerin Ha had been named the 2026 ceremony’s Ambassador, representing the next generation of actors and exemplifying great character by using her platform to advocate for humanitarian causes. Ha expressed her gratitude for the title: “Especially with the Actor Awards, it’s truly a ceremony for the actors, and to be recognized for my work and to be put in this position is such an honor and a privilege. I’m such a lover of the craft and collaboration. So to be able to talk to other actors about how they have gotten to where they are, and about their struggles and their identities, is something that I’m constantly wanting to learn.” In addition to her role, the actress provided behind the scenes access and supported outreach efforts for the SAG-AFTRA foundation.

Opening Number Kickoff

The night officially opened with a comedic musical monologue by host Kristen Bell, who addressed the ceremony’s new shortened name and how aptly named it had become in an industry full of rebrands. The Studio

Apple TV+’s The Studio (2025) scored 3 large wins, being recognized for their ensemble cast, Seth Rogen for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series, and most notably a posthumous award for the late Catherine O’Hara in Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series.

The main cast — Seth Rogen, Chase Sui Wonders, Ike Barinholtz, and Kathryn Hahn — gathered together onstage for their win of Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series. Beaming alongside his co-stars, Rogen reflected on the collaborative spirit and talent of the team that fueled the show’s humor.

“Every scene in the show is one continuous take, so if anyone messes up anything, you’re potentially messing up a great performance by one of your fellow actors. If you improvise something great and someone laughs, then you’ve ruined that. It’s a real team effort to a degree that probably nothing I’ve ever made in my entire life has been.” His emphasis on the chemistry of the cast truly highlighted the heart of the show and their collective win.

In the introduction by longtime friend actor Woody Harrelson, Harrelson praised Ford’s timeless screen presence and ability to use his platform with integrity and purpose in honor of the climate crisis. The speech framed Ford as not only a box office giant, but as an artist whose influence has and will continue to span generations.

Ford accepted the award with characteristic humility and humbleness. He expressed his deep gratitude to his peers, underscoring how meaningful recognition from his fellow actors truly was. Despite the tears in his eyes, Ford continued to make humorous quips that he was still in the middle of his career and had a long way to go still. The moment balanced sincerity with spirit, a fitting tribute to a legendary grounded veteran in modern cinema.
