Vietnamese pop icon Sơn Tùng M-TP continues to expand his music catalog, embracing new rhythms and sounds. Following the release of his first English single, “There’s No One At All,” the V-pop sensation is back with the highly-anticipated “Making My Way.”

Dubbed the “Prince of V-pop” (Vietnamese Pop), Sơn Tùng M-TP has carved a remarkable career, full of international accolades and major milestones. A household name in his native Vietnam, the singer has explored different genres through a string of successful releases. Now, he is delivering yet another hit with “Making My Way.” The song — which draws elements from reggaeton, hip-hop, and EDM — is a catchy anthem that tackles the topic of moving on and finding one’s way. “No need to explain, taking my own lane/ God’s helping me out, get over my doubt/ Though I can’t live without you, forget you right now,” Sơn Tùng M-TP sings in the chorus.
Regarding the self-penned and self-produced song, the singer shared, “This is a song that means a lot to me because it makes me forget about everything that’s wrong in my life. And reminds me that I should do whatever my heart tells me to do and go wherever my music tells me to go.”
Upon its release, “Making My Way” topped iTunes charts in Vietnam and Singapore, and quickly reached high positions in countries such as Germany, Thailand, Australia, and Japan.
The Prince of V-pop
Sơn Tùng M-TP is no stranger to standing under the limelight and making waves internationally. The singer and actor has received several awards, including an MTV Europe Music Award for Best Southeast Asian Act in 2015, and the Mnet Asian Music Award for Vietnamese Breakout Artist in 2017. Additionally, Sơn Tùng has also been listed in Forbes Vietnam’s 30 Under 30 and is the first Vietnamese artist to have a tour documentary, Sky Tour: The Movie (2020), on Netflix.
Catering to a worldwide audience, Sơn Tùng has also released music in collaboration with the American rapper Snoop Dog. The 2019 single, “Hãy Trao Cho Anh,” featured Snoop Dogg and the singer Madison Beer in the music video. The Vietnamese trailblazer also released his first English track, “There’s No One At All,” in 2022.
