Lights, cameras, and action meld at the Cannes Film Festival, the prestigious annual celebrating the film industry. This year’s event continues the tradition of uniting the most distinguished celebrities from around the world. As is the case every year, Cannes attendees transform the film premieres and press events into extravagant fashion showcases, worthy of their own spotlight.
Below, EnVi recaps some of the most buzz-worthy looks at the 77th Cannes Film Festival.
Adam Driver
Hollywood darling Adam Driver sported a James Bond-worthy tuxedo to the premiere of Megalopolis (2024). Driver’s black-tie attire comprised a white wool silk tuxedo jacket, simple button-up white shirt, black wool tailored trousers and black leather shoes, all courtesy of Burberry. Following the James Bond style book, Driver completed his look with a black silk bow tie.
Anya Taylor-Joy
Departing from the method dressing style she’s flaunted for the Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga press tour, Anya Taylor-Joy embraced ballroom elegance in a Dior haute couture dress. The beige number boasted 1,200 hours of embroidery and 850 hours of atelier work and drew inspiration from Monsieur Christian Dior’s “Mexico” dress, originally presented in the Fall Winter 1957 collection. Channeling regal sophistication, Taylor-Joy upgraded the look with diamond jewelry from Tiffany & Co.
Barry Keoghan
Saltburn star Barry Keoghan appeared at the premiere of the upcoming release Bird in a formal Burberry ensemble. The actor wore a ruffled white tuxedo shirt paired with black wool trousers and matching black leather derby shoes. Keoghan also wore a pastel blazer, adding a touch of baby blue color — perhaps a nod to the addictive “Espresso” by girlfriend Sabrina Carpenter? We choose to believe so!
Beatrice Vio
Italian fencer Beatrice Vio, best known as Bebe Vio, sported a Dior design by Maria Grazia Chiuri to the Kinds of Kindness premiere. Titled “Extraordinary,” the dress was pulled from Dior’s Fall Winter 2024 collection and took 860 hours of embroidery work. Vio, who is a Paralympic champion, styled the sleeves dress with a chic spiked hairstyle, dangling earrings and a classic rouge à lèvres.
Bella Hadid
Bella Hadid delivered showstopping look after another during her stay in Cannes. From vintage Versace dresses on the red carpet to keffiyeh-infused looks on the streets, the model and Orebella founder showcased her style finesse with the most fashionable looks. One of her most-talked about looks was the black column dress she sported to walk the red carpet of L’Amour Ouf. Tapping into the naked dress trend, the body-hugging piece, sourced from Atelier Versace’s Spring Summer 2001 collection, featured a plunging V-neckline and sequined skirt that departed from the extravagant glamour predominant on the red carpet and leaned into subtle sensuality. To elevate the look, Hadid opted for an updo and chandelier diamond earrings. Simple, but effective!
Carla Bruni
Styled by Clement Lomellini, French model and singer Carla Bruni stunned in an emerald green dress at the Trophée Chopard award ceremony. Bruni’s column gown, courtesy of French fashion designer Alexis Mabille, featured a velvet cowl neckline and was topped off with emerald jewelry from the “Chopard x Julia Roberts” capsule collection.
Coco Rocha
Model Coco Rocha stunned with several fashion statements at the Cannes Film Festival. One of the model’s standout looks was a cala lily-inspired design by couturier Cheney Chan.
Ella Hunt
Premiering Horizon: An American Saga, actor Ella Hunt stepped out in a slip dress-style Fendi couture creation. Styled by Sarah Slutsky Tooley, Hunt’s outfit paired the silk dress with a pair of silver Roger Vivier sandals and drop earrings by Chopard.
Elle Fanning
The darling of Cannes’ red carpets, Elle Fanning, raised expectations for her long-awaited appearance at the event. The actor, who finally walked the red carpet at the festival’s closing ceremony, did not disappoint. Channeling the ‘70s, Fanning sported a lightweight fabric semi-sheer dress by Gucci. While the look strayed from Fanning’s princess-style glamour, the dress’ dramatic sleeves and backless design offered a spectacle as she climbed the stairs of Palais des Festivals.
Emma Stone
Emma Stone made a case for plunging necklines with her custom Louis Vuitton dress at the premiere of The Triumph or Mercy (2024). Stone’s burgundy sequin dress was hand embroidered and featured a deep V-neck and double ruffle detailing. Stone boasted extravagant jewelry from Louis Vuitton’s high jewelry connection “Deep Time,” including the “Fossils” earring set. She also sported the “Volcano” bracelet set, which featured cushion-cut tourmaline and spessartite mandarin garnets that complemented the warm hues of her dress.
Eva Green
As a member of the Feature Film Jury and amid a packed schedule of events, French actor Eva Green stunned with several looks and avant-garde pieces. At the Vanity Fair France & Turkish Airlines cocktail, the star donned an off-the-shoulder Armani Privé sequined dress. Green topped off the black embellished piece with striped Roger Vivier pumps and a Rouches Flower Strass Jewel mini bag by the same brand.
Eva Longoria
Attending the 2024 Trophée Chopard award ceremony, which honors new-generation film stars, actor Eva Longoria opted for a shimmery silver gown. The strapless metallic dress, designed by Saudi designer Eman Alajlan, was styled with a black velvet cape and an opulent Chopard choker.
Hande Erçel
Turkish actor and fashion darling Hande Erçel had all eyes on her as she arrived at the amfAR gala, an event dedicated to fundraising and supporting research to cure AIDS. Returning for a second year to the red carpet, Erçel donned a custom-made dress by Lebanese designer Nicolas Jebran. Flaunting intricate beaded embroidery, the masterpiece showcased Hande’s style adroitness and ability to flawlessly move between styles and trends.
Hunter Schafer
Assisted by longtime stylist Dara, American model and actor Hunter Schafer stole glances at the premiere of Kinds of Kindness. Schafer, who attended the Cannes Film Festival as part of Yorgos Lanthimos’ upcoming movie cast, opted for a reflective liquid Armani Privé dress to walk the red carpet. Minimalist, but absolutely effective for a montée des marches at La Croisette, the gown was appropriately paired with metallic shoes and a set of blue-toned jewelry by Chopard.
Jasmine Jobson
British star Jasmine Jobson attended the premiere of her upcoming film Bird in a sleek, custom-made Louis Vuitton get-up. Jobson’s sleek bun and minimal accessorizing complemented the actor’s high-waisted black skirt and leather suspender combination. an Embroidered bandeau top, which dazzled with a plethora of silver crystals, took the spotlight of Jobson’s red carpet outfit.
Joey King
The Kissing Booth star Joey King made her Cannes Film Festival debut at the premiere of The Precious Of Cargoes. King served a frosty blue look with a Golden Age flair courtesy of Hollywood waves and shimmery glam. Styled by Jared Eng Studios, the actor wowed audiences with a sheer corseted dress by Vietnamese designer Cong Tri. The gown featured draped details on the hips and neckline and was accentuated with metallic embellishments on the bodice.
Kelly Rutherford
Cannes regular Kelly Rutherford returned to the film festival sporting an empire silhouette. The black chiffon dress from Michael Kors’ Spring Summer 2024 collection was pulled by stylist Ilya Vanzato, who worked with hairstylist Brigitte Meirinho and makeup artist Samira Pikpo to create a look leaning on timeless elegance. Rutherford, who attended the Kinds of Kindness screening, sported a Chaumet “Soir des Fêtes” necklace and earrings set to elevate her look.
Kylie Verzosa
Filipina star Kylie Verzosa became a red carpet regular after rising to prominence through her participation in beauty pageants. Touching down in Cannes, the multihyphenate dazzled at the opening night of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga in a shimmering pink gown. Created by the famed Filipino designer Mark Bumgarner, the strapless dress featured rosette details on the bodice and intricate leaf-like accents on the skirt, bringing a rose touch of femininity to the red carpet.
Leomie Anderson
TV personality and designer Leomie Anderson took a structural velvet mini by Eman Alajlan and Messika jewelry to the amfar 2024 Gala.
Mariacarla Boscono
Italian model Mariacarla Boscono returned to the Canne Film Festival for the Marcello Mio premiere. The model sported custom Prada for the occasion and accessorized with Damiani jewelry.
Marina Ruy Barbosa
Brazilian actor Marina Ruy Barbosa won the internet with her showstopping appearance at the Horizon: An American Saga screening. The actor went social media viral when she stepped on the red carpet, glistening in a Miss Sohee gown featuring a large puffed skirt and plunging neckline. Paired with a Chopard jewelry set and a sleek hair bun, Ruy Barbosa’s liquid reflective dress stole everybody’s heart.
Noémie Merlant
Cinema star and César-winning actor Noémie Merlant wore an off-the-shoulder brocade dress for the screening of her self-directed film Les Femme Au Balcon. Merlant, who is a household name in France and a regular presence at every edition of the Cannes Film Festival, opted for a Louis Vuitton floral number paired with satin sandals and an Old Hollywood-infused hairdo.
Paz Vega
Stepping out for the Kinds of Kindnes screening, actor Paz Vega blown fashion enthusiasts away with a Nicolas Jebran gown. Tapping into the bow craze that arose last year, the white dress featured a dramatic bow shape enveloping the chest and serving as a statement neckline.
Pritika Swarup
Beauty brand founder Pritika Swarup sported an embroidered draped dress by Zuhair Murad Couture to the festival’s Closing Ceremony. The silver gown featured a one-shoulder cape reminiscent of classic Indian sarees.
Putri Marino
Indonesian actor Putri Marino paid a glamourous hommage to her home country in a velvet dress by Indonesian fashion designer Stella Rissa, inspired by the country’s national flower, the moon orchid. Styled by Yoland Handoko, Marino’s look nodded to Indonesian culture and outstanding craftsmanship.
Raline Shah
Indonesian star Raline Shah stole the spotlight at the Marcello Mio premiere with an elegant black and white dress by Stella Rissa. The gown was tastefully styled with a diamond jewelry set by Piaget and pearl studded sandals by Mach & Mach.
REBECCA (becky) Armstrong
Thai superstar Rebecca Armstrong, best known by the nickname Becky, put a pink twist to red-carpet fashion at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. Becky embodied feminine luxury in a shimmering coral Eman Alajlan gown and statement jewelry from Chopard. Later that evening, the actor wore a floor-length lilac gown by the same brand, extending her pastel-colored approach to Cannes’ style.
Sarocha Chankimha (Freen)
Clad in a creation by Saudi designer Eman Alajlan, Thai star Sarocha Chankimha (aka Free) exuded sophistication and beauty on the Emila Perez red carpet. Freen’s red dress boasted a form fitting corset-style bodice that transformed into a voluminous layered skirt. To kick it up a notch, the Gap: The Series star flaunted a dazzling Chopard collar necklace, consolidating her status as one best-dressed up-and-coming Asian stars.
Selena Gomez
Emilia Perez star Selena Gomez radiated Hollywood glamour at the film’s premiere in Cannes. Styled by Erin Walsh, Gomez looked ravishing as she made her montée des marches in a Saint Laurent off-the-shoulder gown. The sleek velvet column dress was beautifully accentuated by a draped neckline in contrasting white fabric and a dazzling Bulgari necklace. Gomez and her glam team paid attention to the smallest details, crafting a chic updo, Rare Beauty-powered makeup and a red manicure courtesy of Tom Bachik.
Souheila Yacoub
Swiss actor Souheila Yacoub offered lessons on power dressing for the warmer seasons at the photocall of her film Les Femmes Au Balcon. Outfitted and glammed up by the Parisian fashion house Dior, Yacoub commanded attention dressed in a single-breasted jacket and matching mini shorts — a style previously carried by K-pop star Jisoo at the Dior FW24 show. Straying away from the corporate style associated with power dressing, however, Yacoub sported a pair of beach-friendly laced wedge sandals. We’re calling this a Cannes spin on Parisian chic.
Sophie Wilde
Australian actor Sophie Wilde was recognized as one of the most promising names of international cinema’s next generation at the Trophée Chopard award ceremony. The Everything Now star, who was honored as this year’s award recipient alongside Mike Faist, donned a white two-piece set by Loewe. The outfit consisted of a crop top and matching skirt with metallic fringe adorning the hems. It wouldn’t be a Trophée Chopard ceremony-worthy look without the diamonds, so Wilde opted for elegant dangling earrings and a statement bracelet to accessorize.
Thayna Soares
Model Thayna Soares stunned on the amfar 2024 Gala red carpet with a hooded Zuhair Muhad minidress.
Uma Thurman
Dressed in a Burberry ensemble, Hollywood star Uma Thurman made a style statement at the premiere of her film Oh Canada — which competes at the festival in the feature film category. Always one to experiment with unconventional fashion, Thurman chose an ivory duchess dress styled with a classic Burberry trenchcoat pushed off the shoulder for a nonchalant, casual flair. Yellow-stone jewelry and minimalist beauty accompanied Thurman’s red carpet outfit.
Vic Carmen Sonne
In town as part of The Girl with the Needle cast, Danish actor Vic Carmen Sonne has stood out with a sleek and clean style, predominantly crafted with Louis Vuitton pieces. At the premiere of The Girl with the Needle, the actor sported an ethereal lace gown dreamed up by Louis Vuitton’s creative director Nicolas Ghesquière and inspired by Sonne’s love for water. The dress was embroidered with white and light green sequins and featured criss-cross draped bands at the back, bringing an angelic aura to the red carpet.
Victoria Justice
American actor Victoria Justice made her first Cannes Film Festival appearance on the Kinds Of Kindness red carpet. Styled by stylist Philippe Uter, Justice slipped into a sheer off-shoulder gown from Zuhair Murad’s Pre-Fall 2024 collection. To complement her gown’s metallic embroidery and silver accessories, Uter selected the Betsey Johnson black STORY Formal Heels, which feature pearl detailing on the vamp. Justice elevated her luxurious ensemble with a necklace and earrings from the French luxury jeweler Chaumet.
Yoona Lim
South Korean actress and singer Yoona Lim made a remarkable montée des marches attending the premiere of Horizon: An American Saga. Yoona sported a silk gown by Filipina Designer Monique Lhuillier and enhanced her look with a pair of hoop earrings and a necklace from Qeelin’s BAMBOO collection.
Yseult
French singer and model Yseult recreated one of the most iconic fashion looks of all time at the Megalopolis premiere. Modernizing what’s recognized as Christian Dior’s revolutionary “New Look,” Yseult stepped out in Palais des Festivals, dressed in a white bar jacket and contrasting black pleated skirt. Hinting at the original look featured in Dior’s inaugural haute couture collection (1947), the ensemble was paired with a large straw hat, leather gloves and pointy stilettos. Trés chic!
