Lipstick Diaries: Discover Your Favorite Celebrity’s Favorite Lip Product

Across the globe, lip products remained the hero product of makeup bags for the past couple years. From the viral rhode skin “branded phone case featuring a slot designed to house its lip balms” to Korean fluffy lip tints, lip cosmetics took many forms. Meanwhile, the term lip combo re-emerged as lip liner and gloss duos. According to the global intelligence and business website Statista, the global lip product market amounted to $22.17 billion in 2024.
The lip product fixation resulted in consumers vying to know their favorite celebrities’ favorite cosmetics. A-listers were spotted red-handed on social media and television with the trendiest lip products. Thus, the said lip glosses, balms, and liners vaporized off of store shelves and carts. As the craze remained strong, EnVi chronicled the Lipstick Diaries, where you discover your favorite celebrity’s favorite lip product.
Jennie
Korean rapper Jennie isn’t unfamiliar with making a product viral. In fact, she’s the queen of it. Just recently, Jennie used the AOU Glowy Tint Balm on an episode of Korean reality show Apartment 404. Fans hunted down the lip tint pot, and it became remotely impossible to purchase across multiple retailers.
The lip balm comes in thirteen shades. Jennie’s shade is 03 Mulberry Balm. The dark-blush color makes for a perfect, beginner berry lip gloss. Formulated with shea butter and sunflower seed oil, the balm moisturizes and smoothly deposits color onto the lips. The emollient texture offers a sheer tint that can be built up for more opacity.
Notably, Korean celebrity makeup artist Jo Eun Bee launched the brand AOU. The artist works under the makeup salon Kitts Hair & Makeup, and has serviced many A-list clients, such as aespa, NewJeans, and Song Jiah.

Jihyo
Korean singer Jihyo filmed a get-ready-with-me (GRWM) video for American fashion and lifestyle magazine Vogue on their YouTube channel. From face wash to lip gloss, the video featured all of the K-pop star’s beauty staples. Jihyo’s lip routine consisted of the dasique Fruity Lip Jam and the rom&nd Glasting Melting Balm. The products come from two of the most popular K-beauty brands for color makeup; it’s no surprise they appeared in her routine. When looking at Google Trends, the search term “omand Glasting Melting Balm” peaked during the month of February in 2024.
Prepping her lips, Jihyo applied the dasique Fruity Lip Jam before starting her makeup. This step moisturized any dry patches on her lips and created a smooth canvas for the next lip product. Then, Jihyo swiped the rom&nd Glasting Melting Balm just on the center of her lips and patted it outwards.
According to the “Killin’ Me Good” singer, the makeup technique creates a “natural gradient look.” Lastly, Jihyo followed up the lip color with more of the dasique Fruity Lip Jam for extra hydration.

Olivia Rodrigo
Filipino American singer Olivia Rodrigo embarked on her Guts World Tour in early 2024. At each stop, the songstress arrived with a bright-scarlet lipstick. Rodrigo’s bullet-proof matte lipstick had her fans in a frenzy, and eventually they identified the lip color. Fans spotted a tube of Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink next to her makeup artist’s bag. With our expertise, we narrowed it down to the toasted-red shade called Hustler.
The Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink coats the lip with high-impact color and coverage for sixteen hours. Over the years, Maybelline launched over thirty colorways to meet consumer demands. Matte and light-weight, the liquid lipstick makes for the perfect longwear lip color for the street and the stage. Also, the product features a narrow, doe-foot applicator that makes for precise application.

Heart Evangelista
Filipino fashion mogul Heart Evangelista walks into every room with opulent taste in clothes, makeup, and hair. During Milan Spring/Summer 2025 fashion week, her fans became fixated on her deep-burgundy lipstick. Shortly after, Evangelista’s makeup artist, Memay Francisco, revealed the lip color via an Instagram post. The mystery lipstick was Pat McGrath Labs MatteTrance™ Lipstick in McMenamy 200. Along with the product reveal, the makeup artist also encouraged people to post photos of the product with the tag #heartmademedoit.
The Pat McGrath Labs MatteTrance™ Lipstick offers a matte, full-coverage finish to the lips. Formulated with oil-infused powders, the product offers a feather-weight texture and all-day comfort and proved its quality in a social media video. Under high-definition cameras and bright sunlight, Evangelista’s oxblood lip appeared smooth and crack-free.

Layla Almasri
Palestinian American Olympic runner Layla Almasri was easy to spot on the track for her bubble braids. However, the Colorado native is also a connoisseur of glossy lip products. In our interview, Almasri shared, “My current go to is the Kosas Wet Oil Plumping Treatment Gloss in the shade Unbuttoned.”
The Kosas Wet Oil Plumping Treatment Gloss encases the lips in a juicy shine with just one swipe. Vegan and cruelty free, the product enhances the lips with plant-powered ingredients like hyaluronic acid, peptides, and evening primrose. Many of the ingredients target hydration and barrier protection. Therefore, the wearer’s lips don’t just look good, but they feel good as well. If you’re in the market for a warm-blush lip oil, try out Almasri’s favorite in the shade Unbuttoned.
In 2024, the fashion-focused news publication Business of Fashion reported that Kosas pivoted to fit the Gen-Z audience by partnering with celebrities and TikTok influencers. Their new strategy has skyrocketed the brand’s annual revenue over the past couple years. Compared to $80 million in 2022, the brand’s annual revenue reached $120 million in 2023.

Zendaya
During the 2024 Wimbledon, American actress Zendaya caught glances for her fashion, but also her lip gloss. The Challengers star was the official face of tenniscore (an aesthetic style centering around tennis). Amidst her style era, Zendaya appeared at Church Road to watch the tennis matches. She sat courtside and casually applied her lip gloss with a jumbo doe-foot applicator. The endless theories about Zendaya’s lip gloss were put to rest by her most passionate patrons. Within days, her fans identified the tube to be the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer. Fenty Beauty’s hexagonal packaging won’t fool anyone!
Zendaya’s favorite gloss remains an ace of Fenty Beauty for its ultra-comfortable feel and high-impact shine. The vegan and cruelty-free formula garnered fame for its reflective shine and wide shade range, which spans from dark brown to clear. Featuring the spotlight ingredient, shea butter, Fenty’s Gloss Bomb drenches the lips in all-day moisture.
According to e-commerce statistics agency Bigblue, Fenty Beauty boasts an annual revenue of $582 million due to their inclusive approach to beauty. It only makes sense that Zendaya stands with a brand with a diversity-driven mindset.

Suni Lee
American Olympic gymnast Sunisa Lee (better known as Suni Lee) made her return to the Games and charmed many new (and pre-existing) fans along the way. The bronze medalist created a viral faux nail moment on the mat, and the momentum continued after her event. On TikTok, Lee shared her everyday lip combo for glossy nude lips. Her go-to products consist of the MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Color Pencil Longwear Lip Liners and the OLEHENRIKSEN Pout Preserve Hydrating Peptide Lip Treatment. Hours after the big reveal, the beauty community became transfixed with the products and hunted them down. According to Google Trends, there was a 70% increase in searches for “Ole Henriksen lip treatment” the day after Lee posted her tutorial.
Lee started her routine by lining the edges of her lips with the lip liner in 600 Anywhere Caffeine. Then, she colored the center of her lips with the color 606 Wherever Walnut. The contrast between the brown and pink nude colors created an undetectable definition on Lee’s lips. Most importantly, the multi-use pencils glide with ease but remain budge-proof for hours. Thus, it was the perfect base for a generous coat of lip balm.
After lining her lips, Lee applied a thick layer of the Pout Preserve Hydrating Peptide Lip Treatment. The lip treatment plumps up lip lines with kokum butter and peptides. In 2023, the American women’s magazine Allure awarded the product a coveted spot in their Best of Beauty 2024 Awards.

Lisa Manobal
Flourishing into a “New Woman,” Thai rapper Lisa Manobal conquered global stages including the set of the American drama The White Lotus and the the Victoria Secret Fashion Show in 2024. The artist released the romantic nu-disco single “Moonlit Floor” in the latter half of 2024. Days prior to the launch, Manobal teased her fans on Instagram with a cheeky video. The Buri Ram darling strolled the streets of Paris and touched up her lipstick with a baby pink, hexagonal lipstick. When narrowing our lens, we identified the product to be the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Stix in Blaz’d Donut.
Remember Fenty Beauty’s famous Gloss Bomb Lip Luminizer? Fenty Beauty took all the benefits of the lip gloss, but put it in a convenient stick formula. The Gloss Bomb Stix glazes the lips with saturated color and shine. Squalane, vitamin E, and shea butter work in conjunction to lock in moisture for a healthier, plush pout.

Tyla
South African singer Tyla shared her skincare and makeup tips in a YouTube video for American fashion and lifestyle magazine Vogue. The “Water” star shared her go-to products for her ‘90s-inspired lip look. Tyla reached for her custom-bedazzled pot of Vaseline Original Petroleum Jelly to prepare the lips. Then, she etched the perimeters of her lips with a brown MAC Cosmetics lip liner. Tyla’s lip liner went under the radar, but we suspect it’s the shade Cork. After lining her lips, the Johannesburg native lightly blended out the liner toward the center of her lips. However, the look wasn’t complete just yet. Tyla coated her lips in a thin veil of the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. The lip mask blurred the ombre and gave the lips an OG-‘90s shine. The key point to the natural lip look was to work in thin layers. Despite using three heavy-duty lip products, Tyla’s lip look appeared weightless.
Tyla’s picks derive from some of the most powerful brands in the beauty industry. According to market research and consulting firm Cognitive Market Research, the global Vaseline market size was estimated to be USD 2.8 billion in 2023 and will grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.0% from 2023 to 2030. Meanwhile, the marketing analytics company Launchmetrics documented the top ten K-beauty brands of 2023, and Korean cosmetics brand Laneige topped the list. The skincare-focused brand garnered $130.8 million in Media Impact Value™ (MIV®) between January and September 2023.
Due to its occlusive properties, the Vaseline Original Petroleum Jelly heals small cuts, scrapes, and wounds. The occlusive properties create a barrier that promotes the skin’s natural healing process. The Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask rose through the ranks of the beauty industry in 2022, thanks to cast member Nadine Lee of the second season of Netflix hit-reality series Single’s Inferno. Penetrating the lips with nourishment, the mask contains murumuru seed, shea butter, and a berry fruit complex. Lastly, the Canadian cosmetics brand MAC Cosmetics has ruled the lip liner game for decades. Their pencils offer long-lasting, high-voltage pigmentation, but glide on with ease. Not to forget, MAC Cosmetics launched thirty seven shades.

Sarocha Chankimha (Freen)
In 2024, the Thai actress Sarocha Chankimha (best known as Freen) conquered the red carpet, silver screen, and Paris Fashion Week. Amidst her busy schedule, she fulfilled her duties as the face of Thai cosmetics brand IN2IT. Freen posed in photos with the brand’s latest lip product launch — Click Click Glass Lip. Her lips were coated with a glass-like shine and a warm rose tint. If you’re interested in Freen’s pick, try the Click Click Glass Lip in shade CGL094 Rosette.
IN2IT Click Click Glass Lip followed the wave of glossy tinted lip balms in click-up pens from the past couple years. The product comes in five shades that range from bright coral to chic mauve. With every swipe, vitamin C and E properties work in tandem to protect the surface of the lips. Meanwhile, amino acids and the hydro magnetic innovation lock in moisture and plump the lips.
