Industry trailblazer Jisoo is the newest face of fashion brand Self-Portrait. Embodying the contemporary femininity the brand is recognized for, Jisoo fronts Self-Portrait’s Spring Summer 2024 campaign. The South Korean singer and actress became the first musician to ever star in a campaign for the Malaysian-owned, London-based label.

Jisoo x Self-Portrait

Jisoo introduced Self-Portrait’s Spring Summer 2024 collection in a series of colorful campaign photos lensed by Yoon Jiyong in Seoul. The singer wears dresses from the brand’s new collection, including a few sequined numbers and a tulle dress that subtly introduces the most popular print of this season, polka dots.

Self-Portrait’s Spring Summer 2024 collection aligns well with Jisoo’s style identity, complementing her traditionally feminine dress. An abundance of pastel hues dominates this collection, even in the campaign imagery. Gleaming sequins, floral appliques, and bedazzled detailing bring conventional glamour to a range of day and night-ready pieces. The collection plays on conventional silhouettes, combining bold elements with subtle softness to express femininity in various dimensions. A New Era

Jisoo’s relationship with Self-Portrait is a long-standing one. Over the years, the idol has been styled in brand items both on and off stage.  Brand founder and creative director Han Chong shared in a statement, “Watching her journey to becoming a global icon has been so inspiring, not only to me, but to a legion of fans. She is a role model to so many — kind, inspiring, sensitive and a pillar of strength.”

Jisoo’s blooming partnership with Self-Portrait promises an exciting new era for both the singer and the Malaysian-owned label. Chong added, “Musicians quickly became a great source of inspiration for me as a designer – through their costumes, their chameleonic evolutions, and mesmerising performances. I’ve therefore always wanted to work with an artist who could transmit the values we hold at Self-Portrait and who represents the women we connect with globally.”

Though no further announcements have been made, the world anticipates that Jisoo and Self-Portrait will continue collaborating to redefine womenswear for the modern fashion enthusiast. So far, the association has been positively received. In just two days following the announcement, this partnership reached $2.7 million in Media Impact Value. Launchmentrics’ data, monitored between March 6 and March 8, placed one of Self-Portrait’s Instagram posts as the top placement, garnering $590K in MIV.
