Happy Lunar New Year! The Year of the Snake is here and is bringing in a new wave of intuitive, passionate, and creative talent. To celebrate, EnVi has rounded up seven noteworthy singers born under the snake zodiac in 1989 and 2001. These artists are captivating audiences with their unique styles and magnetic energy. Join us as we explore the cool, calm, and creative vibe of the Snake through the power of music.
SZA
SZA moves through the music industry with her snake-like charisma and quiet wisdom that makes her a standout both on and off stage. With a natural ability to captivate without ever trying too hard, she’s built a career that’s as effortlessly cool as it’s deeply personal. From her breakout album Ctrl to the record-shattering SOS, the singer-songwriter has crafted a sound that is both intimate and universally resonant. Her latest release, SOS Deluxe: LANA, expands on her 2022 masterpiece and proves that her instinct for reinvention is just as sharp as her songwriting. Whether she’s pouring raw emotion into tracks such as “Saturn” or strutting with confidence in songs such as “BMF,” SZA knows how to command attention.
SZA’s talents go far beyond her chart-topping hits. She made her acting debut in the Issa Rae-produced comedy One of Them Days, co-starring Keke Palmer. With a magnetic presence in the film, SZA showed off yet another side of her versatility. This year, SZA will continue to make waves as she takes the stage at the Super Bowl LIX halftime show alongside Kendrick Lamar before heading out on tour with him this summer. SZA brings her signature aura to everything she does — singing, songwriting, acting, or performing — embodying the spirit of the snake in every moment.
Ailee
Original soundtrack phenomenon Ailee has the depth and sensitivity that those born in the Year of the Snake are known for. Ailee has many notable emotional ballads in her discography, including “I Will Go To You Like the First Snow” from the hit show Guardian: The Lonely and Great God and “Breaking Dawn” from Doom at Your Service. Before striking fame, she made the courageous decision to move to South Korea from the United States in 2010 for more opportunity. Less than a year later, she placed first on the competition show, Singer and Trainee.
Since then, Ailee has released over 50 singles, six EPs, and five albums, showing just how goal-oriented and passionate she really is. Her latest single, “DANSIMGA,” was released for the soundtrack of The Tale of Lady OK. Within it, she showcases her calming and strategic vocals that have become loved globally.
Theo, Keeho & Jiung of P1HARMONY
Known for their style and songwriting capabilities, the three oldest members of the sextet P1Harmony are ready to shine this year. The three vocalists have shown their adaptability in the industry since they became trainees. From learning English to teaching themselves how to dance and even becoming familiar with rap, there is little that these performers can’t do.
In alignment with their snake zodiac, all three members identify as introverts, but overcome this when it is time to shine on stage with powerful dance moves and room-filling vocals. They perform with a laid-back and cool style and show their expressiveness through songs like “SAD SONG” and “Killin’ It.” The group has recently finished their third world tour, “P1ustage H: UTOP1A,” and with half of the group reaping the energy of the Wood Snake, we can’t wait to see what they have in store for 2025.
Tiara Andini
Coming from a family of artists, the life of a musician is nothing new to vocalist Tiara Andini. Her snake-born wisdom and honesty is prominent in every song she sings. She participated in Indonesian Idol in 2020 after honing her skills in school and has been releasing music ever since.
Her singles like “Janja Setia” and, most recently, “Bukan Untukku,” hold a sensitivity and complex love that she expresses in much of her music. In the pre-chorus of “Janja Setia” she sings, “If only I could / Hold your hand / There will be no miss / In my heart.” The vulnerability that she showcases in every verse has captured the hearts of millions and aligns strongly with her snake zodiac (which suggests one of the best careers for this sign is an artist). Andini finished 2024 with a live album, Tiara Andini (Special Live Session) and started January with a live performance in front of thousands of adoring fans. We’re manifesting nothing but success for her year!
Aiah and Colet of BINI
As the eldest members of octet P-pop girl group BINI, Aiah and Colet embody the goal-oriented resilience brought forth by the snake zodiac. Apart from being BINI’s main rapper and visual, Aiah is committed to completing her education, sharing fun anecdotes about juggling online schooling amid her popstar life. Driven like the snake zodiac, BINI’s lovable main vocalist from Bohol, Colet, learned Tagalog in order to debut.
In 2024, BINI’s tracks “Salamin, Salamin” and “Cherry On Top” reached viral success for their catchy choreography and piqued the interest of listeners all around the world. BINI was also awarded “Voices of Asia Award” at Billboard Korea’s K Power 100 event and “Best Asia Act” at the 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards. EnVi is excited to see what luck will bestow BINI in this Year of the Snake!
Victoria Monét
One of the defining characteristics of those with the snake zodiac is their creativity. Atlanta-born and Sacramento-raised R&B singer Victoria Monét is no exception. Apart from writing hits like Ariana Grande’s “thank u, next” and Chloe x Halle’s “Do It,” Monét became a famed artist in her own right. In 2024, her lead single “On My Mama” catapulted her into the limelight and earned her “Best New R&B Artist” at the iHeartRadio Music Awards and “Video of the Year” at the BET Awards.
Monét’s 2023 track “Stop (Askin’ Me 4Shyt)” also became one of her most-anticipated performances during her concerts thanks to her creativity and wit. For every performance, Monét crafted a personalized message to “stop” certain behaviors. One of her most popular was her message for Sacramento: “Stop calling Sacramento the bay area, there is no bay in the area!” Monét’s creativity is evident across all of her endeavors as an artist, and this Year of the Snake will only allow it to blossom even more!
Chenle of NCT DREAM
Chenle, a talented vocalist of NCT DREAM, has become a notable figure in K-pop with his powerful vocals. The Shanghai native embodies the characteristics of the snake with his charm, intuition, and adaptability. Since his debut in 2016 with “Chewing Gum,” Chenle has steadily built a reputation for his vocal range and his ability to convey strong emotion through song. As a result, Chenle has become one of the standout voices of his generation with his smooth, high-pitched vocals and effortless stage presence.
Chenle’s vocal talent shines on NCT DREAM’s latest album, DREAMSCAPE. From delicate heartfelt moments to high-energy choruses, he elevates the tracks with emotional depth and new textures to the group’s sound. As he continues to mature as an artist, his growth is evident in every track, and he continues to solidify his place in the spotlight. Chenle proves, true to his zodiac sign, that he is resilient and destined for greatness.
